Again another beautiful day in Atlanta, so I bravely decide to clean out the battery bay which up till now has been filled with leaves and pine needles.
First thing I notice is how badly rusted the pan is and also some rust spots in the ba area.
After a thorough cleaning, I embark on disassembly of the cowl and the surrounding areas. What a mess!
This is the first time I've seen filters on this car, and I panicked because I didn't have a spare set.
Anyway I was able to loosen two rubber hoses and move the auxiliary heater out of the way. I then used Rustoleum's reform and seal on the metal parts of the bay.
I used my orbital sander and sanded excess rust of the battery tray and also sprayed it with the rust reformer.
So far I'm impressed with the outcome.
