Just got back from at tech session at the dealership. The tech got the handheld HHT scanner.

So I had

030 LH speed sensor
048 potentiomenter- this one came back after clearing the codes.. this is a gas pedal correct?
096 reference sensor 1R1
112 ...

EA potentiometer said 4.28 volts in the reference data and the 1R1 showed 0.46 volts.

We need to know which module each of those codes are from... they're not making sense, neither are the explanations.

030 = ??? There is no LH speed sensor. There is also no code 30 for the LH module.
048 = has to be E-GAS, should be "Reference potentiometer (M16/1r1)" which is the ETA
096 = has to be E-GAS, but it indicates the starter lockout / backup light / NSS, not "reference sensor 1R1".
112 = has to be E-GAS, error is "Message from EA/CC/ISC control module (N4/1) faulty" (probably a fluke)

PLEASE use the factory code translation sheet at the PDF below...

sorry,

I didn't take good note=0) Dave.. so
048 = has to be E-GAS, should be "Reference potentiometer (M16/1r1)" which is the ETA
096 = has to be E-GAS, but it indicates the starter lockout / backup light / NSS, not "reference sensor 1R1"

So... with your experience- does this mean I need an ETA?? I was hopin' it was potentiometer @ gas pedal=0). I'll can take another look in 2 months for free=0)

Michael

Michael, if your ETA is original, it's highly suspect, and very likely due for replacement. The new ones have the improved wire insulation (same as the new engine harnesses are built with better wire) and should last much longer.

What are they general symptoms, btw?

symptom?

Reoccuring CEL almost instantly. I've pulled codes before and now I've had 2 MB techs pull codes.. everyone thinks it is something different. When we discussed this in November, it looked inconclusively like a bad DM.

M

Ah, that's right, I forgot. What is the DM code that recurs immediately? Have you swapped the DM with your E420 as a test?
