I have begun documenting the installation of a duck tail - similar to the one above - on my 500e that has a facelift trunk, and those pics can be located on the Owner's Thread with my username.

However, like everything in life - it will only be as good as the people you have around you (to assist in the install). Many of the spoilers being sold now came off molds made years ago, so expect to triple the purchase price for labor in getting them installed and painted. As far as I am concerned based on my preference for them (and not getting one on my previous ride), its totally worth it and good luck with yours!

I have a genuine AMG ducktail on my facelift car. It’s the Gen 2 duck without the AMG letters embossed/molded into it.

It does fit fine but the chrome handle/license plate light holder piece needs to be modified. It’s easier than I originally thought as the piece is not metal, it’s chromed plastic. Itcuts like butter with a jigsaw to fit behind the ducktail and seal up the hole and still provide lights for license plate.

So you have cut the chrome facelift trunk handle/grip, and it appears like you have put on a pre-facelift trim after that?

Everything is facelift parts. I only trimmed a stick handle piece so it would tuck in behind the ducktail and be hidden while keeping the OE lights intact.
