E420 Splash Pan MacGyver - ing

My E420 was (like many it seems) missing the under engine splash pan when I got it.
I was able to (temporarily) lay hands on the correct one, and compare the differences to an old 300E one I had laying around.
Basically, the 2 centre screw holes are inset exactly 1 inch further, a cutout at rear for exhaust, and a couple rear vents.
The front and rear screw holes are the same.
I measured, drilled new holes for Centre screws. Cutout at right rear for exhaust clearance. I cut a couple holes where the rear vents are, need to think of something to add to replicate the vents.
Not 'pretty', but it will work. I'll give thought how to improve next 300E / E320 pan I acquire, they're fairly plentiful.
From parts cars, I have some of the dash ductwork, that may be adapted to use for the rear vents?
(I also had a spare R129 pan, but not even close.)

Ship it to me! I'll buy it!
Purpose - probably impossible to measure - but part of the aerodynamic equation of the car, smooth airflow underneath etc.
Practically speaking, keeps water, snow etc away from the engine.
A few years ago, my son hit a large puddle at highway speed in the winter, (no pan on the car), the resulting large upward splash took out the alternator.
For me, I just like my cars 'complete '.
