E60 Vin Numbers

Hello

Does anybody have a list of vin No's for the last 12 that were taken directly ex production line to AMG to become E60's

Thanks Dik Best

There were more than 12 cars that were made into E60 AMGs. Quite a few more than 12. There are threads about this, along with specific VIN numbers of these cars, posted here on the forum.

If there is no Code 957 in DataCard it is not an E60 AMG.
It might be E500E 6 Liter AMG....

If this is the data card then I’m confused. Sorry to be a pain but there’s a specific reason I asked about number on the left bottom of the AMG sticker which I’m happy to send to you.

There are no painful questions, only bad answers ))
We were all there, at the beginning.
Data Card is either in the cars documents such as service manual, service history etc. Or it is in your trunk, right upper side, close to the right loudspeaker so to say. It might have survived.
Or you just visit your local MB Dealer and ask nicely. Be aware it will look nothing like an old Data Card, you´ll get just 2 A4 printed pages. Pic from old Data Card attached, as the spot in the trunk for another one.

Thankyou. This is what I found about the E60 currently for sale on BAT.
But I’m primarily concerned about the AMG sticker referred to earlier in my feed. "Does the AMG sticker with a serial number in the bottom left corner carry any significance?"
There is no serial number on the decal/sticker. That is the part number for the decal. The decal is NLA and you can no longer purchase originals from the dealer.

Hi Gerry. There’s an E60 for sale on BAT today and being sold over the next 6 days. I’m trying to get some verification that it’s a genuine E60. Its VIN number is not in your list. Question. Does the AMG sticker with a serial number in the bottom left corner carry any significance?
If the VIN is not on that published list, then it didn't leave the factory with a code 957, and would have been shipped as a regular 500E/E500. HOWEVER, there are some cars that were sold as regular cars and later upgraded by customer request by AMG to E60 status. The special AMG stickers could have been added as part of this "after sale" upgrade by AMG.

This is not a data card. This is the plate on the upper radiator support that has some options and paint code listed on it. The data card is a paper item that was pasted inside the back cover of the service manual, and can be found (as indicated in this thread) in a couple of places on the car, the easiest seen under the rear panel in the trunk. The data card would also be found on the web site mentioned above, although in digital (non-MB) format.

Thanks. There is 957 in the vin search I did.
The list you are referring to is for 957 + 958 coded vehicles which is why you won't see it on there as the E60 currently on BaT does not have the 958 "Limited" option code. I'll let others confirm as well but IIRC somewhere in this forum only 957 coded cars are between 130-150. Not sure if there is a list of those VINs though.

I believe this is correct. The estimated number is roughly 150 with code 957, and I've never seen a comprehensive VIN list for the 150. Assuming the 45 Limited are included, that would be roughly 100 or so with only code 957.

I assumed there might already be a list of just 957 cars or maybe Gerry has them. If not I can come up with a list. I've done lots of VIN stuff for the W210 chassis.

That would be awesome. How do you extract the data from the EPC? Or is there a database extract available that just needs to be filtered by the option codes?

Last batch of VINs I did, I saved the datacard as a .txt and parsed the option codes/info that way. The part that actually takes time though, at least the way I do it, is finding the VINs that were used. I'm sure there's a better way of doing it, I just worked with what I had.

Thankyou for your prompt and informative response. I was curious because I e seen another E60 with the same number: hence my question. I’m at ease now 👍

Very informative. Thanks all. 👍

Thank you for going through that effort! So you can confirm that there were only 148 cars? Do you have a list of each of them (VIN numbers) you can share?
