I had a question about some photo,s that i received for my new book, it concerns an e60amg Limited. (the book of the 500e/e500/e500 Limited will have a sequel with hopefully more information and photo,s about the e60amg and e60amg Limited).

It concerns vin number: wdb12403610106711. I did not see it in the list of factory delivered e60amg. Is it a real Limited with later the engine upgrade? Maybe someone can help me with this.

I am busy looking for photo,s and owners of an e60amg and e60amg limited to complete the book.

all tips and help are very welcome

cheers Manuel

Hi Manuel,

I'm assuming that you mean WDB1240361C106711. That car is indeed NOT an original E60 AMG (Limited), as it doesn't show the 957 code on its datacard. It may have been converted to E60 by AMG after it left the MB factory on 23rd February 1994. See: Mercedes VIN Decoder | Decode Your Mercedes-Benz VIN See also the thread on this forum: "list of EPC VIN's for AMG E60 Cars (code 957 only)".

It has been established on this forum (some time ago) by esteemed member @WDB748372 that this VIN is, however, the 4th ever produced E 500 Limited out of 951 Limited's (and production number 8787 out of the total 036-production), so it is an original Limited. There is a thread about this somewhere on this forum (see attached pic from that).

By the way, I did buy your book (W124 500E/E500 Limited) and find it interesting. It's too bad, however, that the binding is unfortunately not of great quality, as some pages became loose quite quickly....

Best regards from a fellow dutchman

Dear Adam,

Thank you for your message and indeed it is an original limited. Nice!
And in regards to the feedback of the book, I am so sorry to hear this. I have not received this feedback before, but it is definitely something to keep in mind for next print. I will check it with the printing company as it should not happen.

Sunny regards from Spain

Hi Manuel, I am interested to buy a copy of your book. May I know how to get one?
Thanx for your message.

The book is currently sold out. We are now working on a new version of better quality and also the story of the e60amg and e60amg limited. I will leave Spain for the Netherlands next month together with my photographer for new and more photo,s ( also for a new book about the r129 sl ).
The new book will therefore take some time ( for me its only a hobby and passion, not my daily job ). When its available you can order it via www.carbooksbymanuel.com.

Cheers Manuel
