Evo II wheel bolt question

Update. Ok, so I received the Lug bolts, part number 66470133. Had the evo's installed but the bolts do not come out flush to the surface of the center of the wheel. Do these look correct to you guys?

I think its a matter of individual preference, personally, I prefer the flush look. My main concern was always making sure the rear bolts were short enough to avoid hitting the parking brake cable. Love those high-sheen finish wheels . . . would be happy to trade you my painted set with the full set of flush wheel lugs for them . . . ;)

Some of my wheels I run them flush and others are not as flush

I think the single head this style on the right will work on the EVOII wheels with a flush look

Those are the only bolts available from the dealer now. The "correct" lugs for Evo 8.25" wheels, which would be flush with the wheel face (shown in above photo in Jeff's hand, right side), have been NLA for years. Sorry.

Note: the 7.5" Evo wheels use the standard short-head bolt from the 1980's. The extended-head bolt that is flush on the 8.25 Evo wheel, will stick out on the 7.5 Evo wheel.

Old thread but I found ebay seller who has lug bolts for sale. Are these correct bolts for EVO wheels? http://tinyurl.com/zazt9he

In the photo they look as same as in post #54 ( Jeff's post) Or is there several bolt lenghts available with this flush type bolts?

Am I right that the bolts which dealer currently sells for Evo wheels are bolts with non decorative cap/ shiny cap?

They might be the correct bolts, but its nearly impossible to tell from a picture. I went through a couple of sets before I found 10 that fit the rear (w/ painted EVO II's) without hitting the parking brake cable. If they are a bit too long, you could always grind them down a bit to clear the parking brake cable (which is what I would've done had I not located an OE set of the correct length). I can confirm that there are a number of different length bolts used by MB. To make it even more complicated, not only do the lengths of the threaded part of the bolts vary, but the upper shank length can vary as well. None of the bolts I have had parts numbers on them so its quite conceivable that slightly different bolts of varying lengths were mixed together at some time. I've heard (but have no firsthand knowledge) that dealer bolts have a very short and unfinished upper part (no polished caps). I do know for a fact that the RAD aftermarket bolts (OtisinLA) only come that way.

Correct on both counts. The polished-cap bolts are not available new anywhere, your only option is finding a used set.

Hello

I finally found high sheen evo wheels (A124 401 17 02, SL583/A). The next seeking item are bolts. As the B66470133 are NLA I need to look for used one. But on 2nd hand market there are no parts numbers included only some measures. There are w126/w107 targeted double collar bolts for sale. How do they fit to evo wheel? What is the length of OEM bolts for evo wheels?

Thanks

The 129/126/107 "double collar" 95mm bolts will stick out and look wrong.

You need the lug bolts shown below if you want the bolts to be almost flush, AND have the decorative cap. They are not available from MB anymore. If you can't find a used set, let me know... but shipping to Europe is expensive. Otherwise, any standard short-head bolt will work with the correct thread size and R12 ball seat.

I use those on the back of my Oz racing 3pc wheels so that the heads become flush the dish of the rim.

I found set of bolts in Ebay.de with reasonable price 64€ (+delivery 17€). The seller told them to be for W210, W209 and R129, but fits nicely also for evo II and .36.
After cleaning them with 10% citric acid liquid in ultra sound cleaner and top hat polishing they are ready to install.

@gsxr You mentioned that you might have access to the correct bolts for these wheels. Is this still true? Thanks
I should have a set of the original bolts available, with decorative polished cap, that will be flush with the Evo II wheel face.

@gsxr,
We haven’t seen any of your track exploits in a long time. There are a lot of nubees here who don’t know how you spend some of your weekends and oldies like me that are also interested. If you can find the time, please post some photos of you and Mrs GSXR at the strip. Maybe a video and some trap times.

Anyway, Most Importantly. HAVE FUN!:thumbsup2:

We're racing at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 6 double header this weekend. Race 1 (Thurs/Fri) was a dumpster fire, we'd rather not talk about that, lol. :( 😖 😣 😩 🥺

Today (Saturday) we had qualifying for Race 2 tomorrow (Sunday). Qualifying went ok, my wife did better at the 'tree. We are in the "Sportsman ET" class, you'll see us a couple of pairs into the Sportsman class at the links below:
