Unfortunately, I need to report a disappointing and frustrating experience with China Car Diags.
As per post #20 above in this thread, the initial system I received did not communicate via the 38 pin cable either by USB or WiFi. I returned the unit to a UK address they provided and the postage cost was refunded from my initial payment by PayPal used for purchasing the system.
A new complete system was shipped to me which sadly had exactly the same issue. A number of Teamviewer sessions later and the suggestion from Seven was to ship me a replacement SSD to swap out in the tablet.
The SSD arrived and I switched it in and had the same issue yet again, the system will basically not communicate at all with my car. At this point, Seven began to ask for more and more checks and tests, this is despite the website stating the system would work “out of the box”. I perhaps foolishly agreed to test the system on another newer car with a 16 pin OBD port and this was able to connect but would not perform any diagnostics.
Eventually my insistence to return for a refund was accepted so I paid the 2nd return to UK postage costs myself expecting to be reimbursed when the item was received back complete and in a satisfactory condition by them.
At this point Seven admitted that some customers have reported they cannot connect using HHT-Win and they are producing a new cable to try and resolve!!!
The 2nd system and SSD I returned was delivered back to their UK address and I chased Seven for the refund. Eventually, I only got the remainder of the purchase price refunded and Seven claims customers pay for returns. I protested that the item is faulty and not fit for purpose but I got nowhere so I have now given up and will not be using them again.
TLDR – I bought an M6+ with a tablet from China Car Diags and after more than 10 weeks, 2 systems and 3 different HDDs it won’t work with my 38 pin car and I’m also out $50 for the return postage charges which they won’t refund. I spent many hours testing and supporting Teamviewer sessions as well as repackaging and shipping etc.
