If anyone has a need to get a new set of gauge faceplates made (or, for example, if you wanted to convert your car from MPH to KM/H), there is a great provider of these that makes a great product. He can also do AMG style faceplates, and if you want a modern looking option, produces a plasma-backlit gauge face.

Company is www.moman.pl

I just got my order of new replacement 560SEC gauge faces today. Took about two weeks from order to have in hand.

We offer faces as well...My supplier is having a Hell of a time having lost 8 of his 10 employees but that said our faces are screened onto original alloy face plates/gauges. No fancy plasma stuff but if you want that Exact look like the original, down to the appropriate lack of glare/reflectivity these do the trick.

I'm waiting on stock to come in on 500E/AMG E60 face plates, but I do have W126 and W124 (non asr) pre merger AMG gauge faces that are dual scroll, KPH and MPH on the same face.

Hi Jono, can you post pics of the E60 face plate when they arrive.

Stock E60 should have the standard 260kph face, same as any Euro E500E...?

:scratchchin:

I’ve seen 300kph and 280kph when searching on google images.

I need a solid repro with the proper AMG logo design and logo placement for my E36 coupe and cabrio builds.

Seems like finding a genuine speedo cluster with the correct logo in MPH is impossible.

I believe the 280 or 300 faceplates were available on special request from AMG, and/or available for post-delivery 6L conversions. But, AFAIK, all standard-production E60 that rolled out of the factory with code 957 and zero km's, had the standard 260kph speedo (and, were limited to 250kph top speed). For all the 6L owners out there who want to explore the top speed of their E60, drop me a line, I can de-limit them. :D

Finding an original, genuine 280/300 faceplate, speedometer, or complete cluster would be extremely difficult. Especially since there may have only been a few dozen out there in the first place. @kegmankipp may have some tips on this. Most of what you find will be reproductions, which IMO is fine if you aren't restoring a factory AMG.

Note that if you get a 280/300kph faceplate, first it must be for a 124-chassis electronic speedometer, as the 2 odo windows are ~1mm different position vs mechanical and it won't look right if the plate doesn't match. BT, DT. And, the speedo must be custom recalibrated for the new range. You can't only use an external converter box, which will make either the speedo OR odo accurate, but not both. Internal adjustment is needed to get both in synch. I went through this ~15 years ago with a 190mph faceplate on my E500. Unfortunately the VDO shop that did the work back then has closed.
