How to do the LH adaption

M119 with LH. In HHT I get the LH into adaptation mode. No problem getting the Low & Idle to "yes" but how do I set the upper? Tried going on second gear but as soon as I let go a bit to stay within speed limit I go out of the adaption range

Apply brakes and accelerator simultaneously to keep your speed constant while increasing the load required.

Alternately, just drive the car normally for a few hundred km's and the LH will adapt automatically.

I believe there are threads here that talk about this process and options.

Did you try searching the forum?

I tried searching for a number of different terms but didn't find anything obvious.

Note - I was searching for "adaptations" and "control module adaptations" which is the wording according to my software. I also included searches with HHT and HHT-WIN.

Are Boolean searches possible here?

You can use the "Advanced Search" feature which works pretty well. An alternate is to use Google to search with the modifier "site:500Eboard.co" to only search the forum.

From a quick look, there may not have been any threads specific to adaptation procedure, just random posts within threads that otherwise might not have sounded relevant.

Thanks, I did use that (Advanced Search) but because there aren't any threads to find... I didn't find any :)

I was hoping to find some examples of adaptations done using HHT-WIN there seems to be a surprisingly little in the Public Domain considering these things can brick your car if you make a wrong turn.

We rarely if ever need to manually set adaptation via HHT-Win. And, I've seen cases where the manual adaptation numbers were not accurate anyway (several percent off vs long-term adaptation). It can speed up the adaptation process, maybe, in some cases. But the LH adaptation normally will occur fairly quickly, so there's little reason to ever do this.

No worries about bricking anything with LH-SFI. AFAIK that is unpossible. It's later systems (Bosch ME) where this may be a potential risk, even then I'm not sure... might only be systems with SCN coding (roughly 2003 and newer)?
