Ignition Coil Boot

So today I discovered the cause of my E420’s bogging under load and random misfiring. This problem has been occurring for years when the weather is damp and recently became much more pronounced. I heard a vague tapping coming from the drivers headlight area. After some digging I discovered visible arcing coming the inboard coil wire boot! The arc was jumping from the boot opening to the coil‘s center core. It was quite vivid. I found the boot terminal corroded with green oxidation and the coil insulator coated with powdery brown deposits.
I tried to clean up the connection but it was pretty clear I needed new wire ends.
Fortunately, I found several sources for the Beru coil boot with the threaded ends. Hopefully this helps someone with ignition issues.

Hi, can you advise where you found sources for the Beru coil boot with threaded ends? I just swapped a severally corroded coil wire (coil was filled with the green oxidation of death so I installed a new coil) with a used wire I got on ebay, but would prefer to fix my corroded coil wire as it is only a year old. Thanks!

They were less than $20 from the dealer. Part number is printed on the boot 0001592942. These boots are different from those on the distributor because of their male end that presses into the coil.
