I know this is not an uncommon problem,

In the words of DaveM, you need to get it to "1" position for the last time. Anyone here have any great suggestions which worked easily to making this happen.

You won't find much here - search PeachParts, BenzWorld, and MBWorld for threads about a stuck ignition lock tumbler. Should be plenty of stories, tales of woe, photos, maybe even some videos...

Couple of ideas / comments:

1) Try flipping the key over
2) Try a different master key
3) Try the valet key
4) Repeat all of the above about 100 times
5) Repeat all of the above with a vibrating sander on the key head
6) Souber MB lock cutter tool or Dremel with carbide cutters

Thanks Dave!

I'll try a few of them. Klann also makes a lock-breaker tool for these cars.

Reading at lunch, it appears many have success with using the new key from the new tumbler to take out the old lock 90% of the time. Unfortunatly, our youngest went through a key playing/hiding time and I cannot find a spare key to this car@! So, I will now have 2 new keys.

Dealer won't take an order without verifying my driver's liscense/registration in person. Said MB now makes them sign an affidavid thing. So off to the dealer tomorrow or Saturday.
