Mass Air Flow Sensor

Hi everyone,

I was looking for a new Mass Air Flow Sensor for 1992 500E. I know there are used ones on eBay but I was trying to potentially find a new one that I could swap mine with or keep it as a spare. I,ve reseaeched it and have been unsuccessful on locating one including the local MB dealers. Has anyone been able to locate one? What is your advise on replacement or spare?

I haven't seen a new or rebuilt one in years. Used is the only option now... there's a decent chance it will be ok, but without SDS to verify live data, it's a gamble. Make sure the seller has a good return policy.

Are you certain your MAF is defective?

It seems that everyone says that the MAFS go bad so I was just trying to be proactive and either buy a new one to replace existing or have a rebuild as a spare. I also had a local shop with a code reader and it detected the MAFS as a problem as well. The car runs fine but I’d like to just upgrade the part if I can.
