It's a surprise to me that there are no AMG or ////AMG logos stamped on the tips of the muffler. Wasn't this on Japan Yahoo auction site for a while?

They came with and without logos on the endtips. These are genuine, same is shown in technical drawing! This should be common knowledge tbh

This was definitely never in Japan, i am sure of it. This was in Germany for all of its lifetime

May i ask why these rules just apply to me and my post, while everyone else does not get this message?

There are several post in this thread that are not e500e related.

The last few ones; more than half of them not directly related to E500E however this rules does not apply to these posts - just to mine

The forum rule is that if a part being offered for sale works on an E500E, then it can be placed in the "Parts for Sale" sub-forum. If it is a 400E-specific part, then it MUST be placed on the 400E parts for sale sub-forum.

Parts for non-V-8 cars must be placed in the "Off Topic" forum.

A 400E valve body has direct fitment & applicability (and desirability to 500E owners) for 500E cars.

AMG wheels that can fit on E500E models (with or without spacers) are appropriate for the 500E Parts for Sale forum. Wheels such as AMG wheels for the W140, with incorrect offset, should not be placed on the 500E Parts for Sale section.

AMG gear knobs are of direct fitment and interest to 500E owners.

Standard W124 headlights (Euro or US) should generally NOT be sold on the 500E Parts for Sale sub-forum.

A 400E muffler should generally be sold on the 400E Parts for Sale sub-forum. A 400E center resonator can be listed on the 500E Parts Sale sub-forum.

A part that is specific to only four- and six-cylinder W124 models (for example, a muffler), and is not able to be used for the 500E or 400E V-8 cars, should always be listed on the Off-Topic sub-forum.

A relevant part from a four- or six-cylinder car, such as the ACC wood panel (especially if it is Wurzelnuß from a coupe or a cabriolet), can and should be listed on the 500E Parts for Sale sub-forum.

Everyone get‘s a free pass but i‘m getting this message. I dont see this message on the parts where you said they dont belong in the thread

If these rules are as strict as you stated they should be applied on everyone

(FYI: AMG gear knob isnt even for W124 at all. And that one only fits with a modified rod like from a W202.)

Its common modification to install a newer shift knob using a W202 or R129 shaft on the 500E, especially the G wagons burl V8 knob.

It seems to me that the rules infer that the title of the subforum (eg 500E parts) is meant to describe the model the part is applicable TO….. which is not always the model the part is FROM.

If a part is desirable to owners here, fits the 500E or is related to a modification (even if it is not a W124 part), then it is relevant to the 500E Parts for Sale forum.

Just like a 400E transmission valve body, which was NEVER shipped on any 500E, is a desirable modification to 500E owners, and is welcomed to be listed on the 500E Parts for Sale sub-forum.

The same with the G-wagen "V-8" shift knobs. W463 only, but very interesting and relevant to 500E owners.

Your non-V-8 muffler has ZERO applicability for any W124 V-8 car. Just the same as an M104 Bosch HFM coil pack would have to be in the Off-Topic sub-forum if someone was selling one.

If you care to look and search through the forum, there are PLENTY of members who have been reminded to post threads in the correct sub-forum. The rules are applied equally to all members with this regard. There are dozens of such "reminders" to people who posted incorrectly over the past 14 years.

If you do not like the rules here, you do not have to post here and take advantage of the generosity of others to list your parts at no cost. It is not particularly cheap to run this forum, and maintain a high quality forum software experience and very vary large photo attachment sizes for everyone, but perhaps you did not know this. Others who sell parts here (such as @Prometey) seem to have no difficulty with this rule.
