Hello Gentlemen,

I was trying to search for a post by a forum member "slownrusty" (not sure if I got the member's name right, if not, I'm sorry), regarding the fitting of the shift knob that had the MB Star + V8 logo. I've used the search functions, however, was not lucky to find any.

I was planning on installing the shift knob (pictures attached) on my R129.066/722.353 transmission.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

If the same as the W124, you have to at a high level:
  • Remove the gear shift plastic surround
  • Remove the gear shift console wood
  • Unclip the gated shifter portion (3 clips - 2 front and 1 rear I believe)
  • Loosen the nut at base of the shifter (15mm I believe)
  • Remove & replace the shifter
  • Reverse the above steps

This has been covered many times in the past folks try the old searcharoo

Head to @2phast’s website - www.2phast.com. Choose 500E and then select Interior Updates. Scroll down 2/$ and you can see his instructions on replacing it. My instructions above are a summary and 15mm is the size you need.

I believe "slownrusty" is not on this forum, he's on a different forum... which may be why you aren't finding what you are looking for?

:apl:

Ntrepid is correct about the " www.2phast.com." ... :bowrofl:. I think this 2nd covid lockdown over here has really affected my brains as I really had a "senior moment" I really was referring to 2phast posts on the topic, I am truly sorry to all you guys who replied to my post.

Dave (gsxr), you are correct also.

... now to go to www.2phast.com to search for the answer to my question.

Advanced Happy Easter Gentlemen :cheers2:
