Rear shock bushing

Hi all,

I need some help from you guys. I have some issues with noise in my car when I drive on a bumpy road.
I know for a fact that it is my rear shock that is playing me. The function of the shock is perfect (this is tested at my local workshop).
BUT, it is the bushing that is failing (see attached picture). This bushing is not available/cannot be purchased from MB for these shocks/cars.

So here comes my question: Have any one of you ever changed this bushing and in that case, what did you use?
Its a Little bit sad to throw the shock away and buy a new one for only this bushing.

Best regards // BenDover

Sorry for causing an extra thread about this, already exsisting issue. I´m not going to change only the bussing.
I will listen to mr GSXR´s Words about the investment and the benefits of new shocks instead.
As you said GSXR: for a longer-term repair, I'd still recommend new SLS shocks

Hi Dan,

Yes it is a shame to throw it, changing the bushing was attempted by a number of people but not using the correct bushing!
If you can remove the strut and take it to a bushing/bearing specialist they might be able to source a correct replacement because I don't think that Sachs used a bushing for the 124036 strut that was not used in any other car in the world!! This is not feasible for such production quantity.

You can look at R129 or W140 self leveling strut bushing as it might be the same..

If you can get it out without damage, you might be able to get some dimensions and find a suitable replacement.

Some have stated that removing it could damage the shock body (eye).

I was thinking of pouring a urethane bushing using the original as a model.
