Hiya Folks,
I am new to the forum and have referenced many of the excellent articles and advice on the forum this far.
We acquired a January 1995 E500 Limited and had an incident that involved the centre console where the wiring has been all but destoryed. We have been desperately searching for a replacement internal wiriring harness for the E500 and this is as rare as rocking horse poop or at least we have found this to be so. Thankfully the damage is to the centre console and heater box and we have sourced most of the replacement parts.
The vehicle is a European Delivery that spent most of its life in Japan and then was brought back to Australia where we have it within our growing collection of mercedes. The vehicle's VIN # is: WDB1240361C211710. The vehicle was supplied with automatic climate control air conditioning. It is totally original and only has 94,500km on it and it looks to be in excellent condition. She has her original German Books as well as replacement Japanese Books.
We have sourced what was alleged to be a wiring harness from a 1993 E500 in Germany but on closer inspection, it appears to be one for a 500E from 1991.
Could one of the wiring guru's out there assist me with the following advice:
1. Were there any changes to the internal wiring harnesses from 1991 through 1995? Would a 1991 internal harness fit? The EPC shows only difference to be auto-aircon versus manual aircon controls;
2. Does anyone have access to good wiring diagrams so that we can reference these whilst conducting the replacement of the harness?
3. Does anyone know anyone who manufactures new harnesses? I tried researching Delphi but to no avail.
Any advice or assistance would be great?
Cheers
Pez
