SLS rod failure

Never thought this would be a maintenance item, but my suspension went super wonky. Luckily I wasn’t but a few blocks from home. The rear was squatting and something was off. Well the bushing to the top of the rod had deteriorated and the knuckle dropped out and was hanging freely.

A 124 320 09 89 - $20

I never fiddled with it much so maybe age took its toll. A good $20 spent.

Indeed an often overlooked service item on rear SLS and full hydro cars. Us 6.9 guys know this only too well. Most of them I've seen on 6.9's have been cactus, amazing to think that this little rod/bushing can have such a profound effect on things.

The SLS adjustment rods are available from MB, for a discounted price of ~$22 apiece, but there are none in stock in the US, and they must come from Germany. I have two of them on order for my parts stock.

Interesting that @kwontumspeed's rod shows a December, 2019 production date. That's some FRESH stock !!

Are folks saying that the 124 rod works perfectly on the 126 chassis?

I can't remember what the W126 SLS rod looks like but I think that it's different to the one pictured for the W124 which looks like it uses the same ends as the W112/W109/W116/W123

I think the W126 is different
