Transmission fluid question - ZF 5HP

No MB topic here, would just like to tap into our pool of automotive knowledge.

I'm trying to find another gallon of trans fluid for my Audi S8 compatible with the gallon of Febi/Bilstein 29738 I acquired from FCP with a previous order. The car uses a ZF 5HP 24 transmission found in some Jaguars, BMWs, and VWs.

Does anyone know of something proper found locally at the chain stores that is usable or should I just order more and pay shipping? So little info behind the counters these days.

Valvoline Maxlife is a great fluid. Might want to check the specs for your application but it's used in tons of manufacturers and models.

@sheward my guy has always told me to stick with the Audi stuff so that's what I use. He grew up in Audi dealerships so I just do what he says. He's a BMW guy so he knows the 5HP is used in a bunch of them to great success. But since it's only 50k interval I don't risk it. If you have to take that trans out you will have eliminated any gain to be had from different fluid. Of course mine is the special 5HP19FLA for the Allroad 4.2. But that trans has also outlasted any other (any other Allroad, any other 5HP, any other), so there's that.

Just bite the bullet. I'll call you.
