W124 e320 wheel recommendations

@alabbasi,
I believe these pics must be in photobox by an outside vendor. Gerry just talked about this type of pic. Older ones can’t be accessed.

UGH. No, those photos were not on Photobucket. They were uploaded directly to the forum. I should still have the photos, I can re-upload if xfadmin cannot restore them. I'm worried about this being a larger issue with other images missing/corrupted on the site, that we may not have found yet.

Yes, 7.5 ET36 is fine. Same fender lip roll / fender spacers / etc, and a 225/45 tire.

Be careful, there are aftermarket copies of this wheel that use cone seat bolts. Don't mix them up. I have a set of these, two OE, two aftermarket, and have to be careful to use the right bolts. This wasn't on purpose, the wheels came on a car I bought.

ill try to find this model wheels in OEM

Sample photo of our E420 with 16x7.0 CLK wheels from a W208.

Stock springs, front "blue" (tall) spring cut 1/4 coil, 1 pt pad. Rear "red" (short) spring, 1 pt pad. Ride height is 14.25" front and rear with a full tank of gas. I don't recommend going much lower for a daily driver that sees real world roads with potholes and speed bumps. When the gap above the tire starts to disappear, IMO it's too low, and suspension travel starts nearing zero as well. Might look cool that low, but it will ride like crap.

Late 90s CLK wheels are a popular choice. I have them on my wagon. Here's an example I found from a quick eBay search:

Those are my Favourite for these cars. I have a set on both my E420 and 300CE

This will work fine, but will require rolling the fender lips front & rear, plus fender spacers, etc etc. Definitely get a rounded profile rear tire.

Keep in mind the 7.5" front Evo wheels will not clear brake calipers 300mm or larger.
What 17 inch wheels clear the silver arrow brake setup?

Most Mercedes and AMG wheels 17" and larger diameter clear the SA front calipers fine, but there are some exceptions, like the 7.5"-wide Evo wheels for example.

The problem is when the spokes contact the face of the caliper. For any aftermarket wheel 17"+, it will be a trial-and-error fit...
