The antenna lower grommet was broken and the upper cover missing when I got the car and today I finally got a new grommet and cover delivered. Has been raining over the last 2 days here and when I went out to the car the antenna was fully extended and would not retract. Had gotten wet from the rain and had water in the quarter. Don't know if the leak caused the mast to extend and ripped the bag I had taped over it or water leaked in an then triggered the antenna and it then extending on it's on but the rear quarter was flooded. Had to stop the water so unscrewed the nut on the top of the unit and slid the mask up to expose the cable and worked the unit out of the wheel well then installed the grommet and worked it back in forced the mask down and tightened the nut. The antenna is no longer functioning but at least it's not pouring water into the rear quarter anymore. Puzzled by all of this as the antenna switch on the dash was fully functional last time I checked it and the antenna fully retracted when I parked the car before the rain but now nothing works?? Radio is toast powers up but display shows gibberish. How can I jump the antenna directly and at least retract the mast for now at the pins?
