Good morning everyone....

My EPC subscription expired 2 weeks ago. I have tried on several occasions to renew, but I get a message that an error occurred and I should try again later. I am choosing the one year free option. Is that the problem? Do you have to pay for subsequent subscriptions?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

The EPC has to be renewed annually, yes. And the annual subscription/renewal you do have to put in a credit card number for verification. Perhaps you should contact MBNA and see what the deal is. Is there an email address that you can send a note to, to check what is happening?

Thanks for the advice Gerry.

I was able to renew using a different credit card, so I am set for another year!

I am currently having the same problem. I have even tried to use a different credit card for the renewal but still no luck. Anyone else experience this problem and determined a resolution?

Thanks!

I have never been able to use that, because I keep all my cards at a PO Box, and they don't allow that for some silly reason.

I haven't been able to renew for about a year now. I have sent a few emails to the support address but still no response. Not Charlie approved.

I had a problem, used their support system, and was up in running in a couple of days. I don't think they take amex...

I was not able to renew my free US EPC last year, but renewed my WW EPC with no problem about 6 weeks ago.

I just checked. I got in, but it said someone is already using my account. All of the VINs I had entered were gone, and a bunch of others were in its memory. I was able to enter my VIN but it eventually kicked me off since it said the account was already open. Sounds like guys on the peachparts forum are having the same experience. Has anyone else on this forum had this problem? I hope they didn't get my bank card info.

I hate it when sites farm credit card info just to verify user location. There are plenty of other ways to do this, alas just another easy exploit for a hacker.

I have not tried my account in a while, I guess I should. My main home PC is a Mac, and the EPC didn't work on it, so I have to dust off the old XP machine and try it.

Rgds,
Chris

Any luck on renewing your subscription to the EPC?

I noticed that the EPC was down for probably a week or so, but it has been back up for a while and working fine. It did "forget" all of my saved VINs though -- not the end of the world.

The EPC still only works on Windows-based Java VMs -- it has platform-checking code that precludes Mac and Linux-based Java instances. Which completely defeats the original purpose of Java in the first place -- to provide a platform-agnostic environment where any Java app could run in a Java-compliant sandbox on operating system.

:geek:

I know there is a more recent thread regarding the EPC subscription...I just couldn't find it because "EPC" is only 3 letters and therefore not searchable using the advanced search function. [Sigh], I digress.

Anyhoo, I'm trying to load Java onto my new laptop. The EPC-net installation instructions indicate that I should download version JRE 7 Update 25 or Update 25. However, the Java installation page indicates that the JRE versions are not "updated with the latest security patches and are not recommended for use in production."

So, exactly which version of Java should be downloaded to run the EPC-net?

HUGE thanks.

Win 10 browser "Edge" not compatible!

I keep a copy of 7v25 just to install first time on a new PC, just saves me time from having to search the internet for the latest version and download every time. Install it with auto update reminder and It doesn't take long for Java to update itself to the latest version. I just allowed my Win 8.1 PC to update Java to 8v91, EPC works fine with it. I think I read somewhere that Win 10 browser (edge), doesn't use Java, I'll poke around. Oh, I'm using Firefox myself.

OK just did a google search, Win 10 new browser "Edge" does not allow plug-ins, that includes Java. So just use another browser that does use plugins like Java, download and install Firefox, Chrome, IE v11.... simple solution... Good Luck
