Wiring Diagram for A/C System?

Hi All,

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the A/C System.

On the 500TE project, my A/C compressor isnt kicking in. I suspect I have cut a wire that is required on the part of the harness that goes inside the car to the heater control panel.

On the original 320TE wiring, the A/C compressor has its own control unit. the 500E has no such control unit?

I havent yet tested if I have 12V power to the compressor as I am pretty sure the issue will be on the wiring inside the car.
I cut out the wires that were to do with heater and A/C as I was planning on keeping the original loom for the A/C heating etc.
I didnt realise the A/C pump may need a feed from this area.

Luckily I still have all parts of the loom that I cut... in a giant tangle, in a box somewhere...

It should be in the electrical subsection of the 124 manual posted in the factory manuals section. You do have access to that, no?

IIRC, the 3.2 liter/facelift W124 still uses a Klima relay underhood; I believe this function is covered by the "Basic Module" on the E500E. Totally different electrical setup.

There is no specific A/C control relay/unit on the E500E. The Klima relay is one of the last vestiges of the old-school 1980s designs as seen in the W126 et al.

I have checked on WIS but the wiring diagrams don’t cover the 036.. I tried looking at diagrams for r129 but that doesn’t seem to match up either..

From memory... the AC compressor is controlled by the KLIMA relay in the wagon.

In the E500E, that function is embedded in the Basic Module / General Module in the CAN box.

All the wiring diagrams are in the FSM / CD-ROM, but it may require some digging to locate them. Also, there are some additional diagrams in a separate folder on the CD-ROM which may be needed; I don't know if everything will be in the main ETM.

Thanks, im looking through, seems like the wiring diagram is not there for the 036 but ill try and piece it together.

If the Base module controls the A/C compressor, I should be able to figure the rest.

Thanks all, sorted. One required wire wasnt connected in fuse box.

Connected the wire and all is ok now.
