ZF power steering pump rebuild

Hi

I am in the rebuilding process of the power steering pump.

I am not uite sure how to install the spring and piston inside the pump. I serched the website and could not find any picuters or post for that.

My pump is ZF mode 7682955501

Thanks, I have seen that, but I dont know how to install the spring and piston, attached a picture

Its diffrent than the pump shown in the post

Not sure what you mean by "side of the clamp"?

Your R129 without SLS has a power steering pump, NOT a tandem pump. But the back half of the tandem pump is basically identical to the power steering pump design.

I can't recall seeing that valve when I resealed the tandem pump in my previous '94 E500, it may be specific for the singel working steering pump? My guess based on the attached photos, is that the special washer #34b is a locking washer, which means it should be pressed down into the cavity holding the valve & coil spring in place. The washer may have weakened over time and lost some of its spring effect, so you can use a plier and carefully widen the 4 locking tabs a bit and do some test fit until it remains in place.
