ZHM Hydraulic Fluid Level - picture request?

Hi,

Can someone take a picture of their topped-up ZHM Hydraulic Fluid tank for me please? I would like to know what the level of the fluid is at.

I went to try and check my Hydraulic Fluid level because it "seemed" low --- and when I pulled out the dipstick --- well ---- see for yourself. It looks like the dipstick was broken off by a previous owner or mechanic.

So while I have the dipstick on order, I still would like to ensure there is enough oil in the tank...

Many thanks.
(and the car still rides quite nicely --- still.)

As a VERY approximate guideline, the two ridges on the bottle are roughly Min / Max level (with no load). The retaining spring in your photo is between the two ridges. I can see from your picture the level is probably near the MIN mark, but if you don't plan to have 4 people in the car plus a trunk full of luggage, you don't need to worry.

On a side note, you can get a complete new reservoir assembly which includes a new cap, dipstick, etc for ~$52 from Napervile:

+1 Buy a new reservoir and it comes complete with a new filter as well. The sticker will be blue vs brown too.

Thanks guys! Ridges to the rescue. The reservoir is cheap --- I am, though, saving my shekels for the important stuff right now - spare ETAs, ignition lock cylinder, high pressure fuel hose, etc. :-) :-)

+1 with GSXR. Generally I fill my reservoirs to the top detent molded in the bottle, right above the spring. For a quick visual level, that is perfect.

Getting a new reservoir really DOES freshen up the engine compartment, along with a new coolant expansion tank.

Lowman, what is going on with you? I expect more from you. :-) :-) See pic

"laughs" :) i deliberatly "put it" like that ;) just kiddin...but it is definetly taken care of.this is a 2 year old picture when first installed..came along way since then...when it comes to misplaced hose clamps :jono:
