500E water pump Top gasket

My 500E has a leak after the former owner replaced the water pump.
Luckely "i think" i have located the leak to be between the top pipe and the water pump.

I've attached the drawings.

I'm a bit confused. Because on other engines like the M104 103 etc the top pipe has only a rubber o ring seal and the thermostat sits underneath it. And that might be the reason I'm confused. Because I see also a papir gasket m the m119 and I know the thermo Stat is on the side and not older this top pipe. Soo...

It does not look like the water pump has any papir gasket witch makes sense as it's leaking. I've not opened it up yet. Want to make sure first.

But as I'm looking in EPC it shows like it has both the papir gasket and the o ring. Why is that?

Anyway. On the drawing it's number
62 papir gasket. 119 201 01 80 (64) later reproduced with 64 on the end number.
I simply can't find that anywhere on the internet and this might be the reason he simply did et used it as well, but it's leaking and I want to find that gasket as it's eksactly that one nd only that one mentioned in the repair papirs to change when ever opened.

So.. What's the deal here. Why is it shown with an p ring as well number 63 in the drawing.

You are using an online EPC which is not the most accurate, and does not show the footnotes.

There's a break point where the water pump design changed and all the associated parts changed as well (thermostat, seal rings/gaskets, pipe sockets, etc). However this change was very late in production, only the last couple hundred E500 engines would have the late style pump.

Early uses the paper gasket, late uses the rubber O-ring.

Sadly the paid acces, I had, is, no longer provided for us, even though I'm in my official membership has legal access to mercedes Benz own EPC but they dont want non mercedes, shops to have that apparently so I'm stuck with online solutions and yes the are very less informative 😔

But ok I think it has the gasket now I see closer it's showing on the side of it. But again where am I able to buy it. Mercedes here say. That part number is, not known to us 😕

You can download a version of the EPC and run it on either Windows, or in a virtual environment in MacOS. These will be a few years old but the data rarely if ever changes for models from the 1990's or older. Mine is from 2018.

Mercedes shows paper gasket A1192010180 available (with -64 suffix), link below.

Lots of aftermarket gaskets available.

Thanx alot. I appreciate your time and effort tremendously ✨🙂👌

Where am I able to download EPC? I really miss that old version you show pictures from. I've diged down alot in that, I hate when mercedes in 2012 change their EPC to less informative versions along with alot of errors for equipment as well.

Read all the "sticky" threads here:

See post #4 here for a download in a virtual environment:

You can also buy installers from sellers on eBay or find downloads on MHH Auto, if you can deal with that website.
