EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- With its engineering department occupied with the development of the new S-Class in 1989, Mercedes-Benz commissioned Porsche to redesign the W124-era chassis to fit the 5.0-litre ‘M119’ V8, and alter the suspension and drivetrain to suit. The 500E was subsequently assembled at Porsche’s own factory in Zuffenhausen.
- The 500E featured uprated 500 SL front brake discs with four-piston callipers, a 38mm wider track, 23mm lower ride height, wider tyres, flared wheel arches, side skirts and a front air dam.
- This example was originally finished in Blue-Black Metallic with grey leather upholstery, but was later painted silver, and has recently been repainted in Bahama Gold with a dark grey lower half, over a rich maroon leather-trimmed interior, featuring wood veneer trim.
- It rides on a set of 17-inch ‘Monoblock’ Performa 25 alloy wheels finished in silver with brushed lips, fitted with Kuhmo and RoadX tyres.
- Equipment includes a top-tinted windscreen, an electric tilt/slide sunroof and rear sun blind, dual-zone air conditioning, a Mercedes-Benz-branded cassette stereo, electric windows, and electrically adjustable front seats with two-position driver memory.
- This example now features tinted windows.
- The car comes with a warning triangle, a spare wheel, and two keys.

- Prior to this the seller states that it was serviced in October 2024 at around 208,000 Kms by a private Mercedes-Benz specialist, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change, a new air filter, and the fuel pump and filter being replaced.
