• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

Almandin 500E long going restoration.

Seems the photo hosting expired on some of the links. I went back and manually uploaded what was still available to the forum, to prevent any further losses. For the broken links, those are gone forever unless SayHey re-uploads the originals.

THIS is why you should always upload images directly to the post as attachments, not use external links...

+124036 times! :D

ALL, absolutely ALL photo hosted pics linked up on the forum will be gone at some point, in 6-7 years at max. It may not be the users/owners fault, but simply due to software upgrades at the hoster.

Has anyone seen a floppy disk reader which communicate with Windows 10 or the latest Mac..?? No, of course not...well, I guess it is a solution somewhere, but where and at which cost - but the old tech floppys will be too bad anyway.

im kinda getting confused on all the new nice parts :jono:

seeing some parts there that i am in the hunt for,,which is NLA..and that bothers me :)looking forward seeing this coming together..but i guess it aint in the near future :)

SayHey, any chance you have a source for oil cooler bracket 124-500-01-81 ? I've been trying to find a couple of those with no luck... Mercedes says they are not available. I'd be happy with used ones in good condition, if there are no new ones anywhere...

:runexe: :apl:

Thanks! Any idea why it says "in stock" but also a 32-day wait time? I've tried buying from Mercedes but they say there are zero left in Germany and USA, but they probably have no way to see if any are floating around in Russia. Does that site allow US buyers / shipping to USA? Thanks!! :deniro:
no shipping to usa i think(
32 days is usually from uae or smth like this

SayHey, any chance that you could help me with parts order or check parts availability? Parts seems to be orderable. I tried to send email but I think that it went straight to junkmail. I'm lookin for spare wheel carrier A1248900207 and battery cover
A1246904030.
Thanks!

Shoot. If these are available, I would be interested in buying 2 of them. If someone in Russia could buy them, and I could buy from Russia, that would be fine - I'd pay the double shipping. They are small / light items, shouldn't cost too much to send to USA!

I have a used battery cover for sale

rear side and back curtains

Thanks, I realize the parts now. You are really doing a deep parts research, it's great to see how it gathers. :thumbsup2:

BTW, I scored a G500 V8 shift knob in Moscow yesterday, finally ending a 3 years hunt.

Ciao

Two days ago I was lucky to buy this Brabus shift knob for 5 USD. It is in poor condition, but at restoration office they told me that it will look like new after all. So after restoration i am waiting for this result.

As for the rest - I am waiting for good weather to take the car to full underneath respray.

The shroud looks good! One of 2 in existence now :gsxrock:

What material did you use? 2mm Aluminium?

As per PM’s regarding Fan spec – see the pictures attached. Clearance to the passenger side fan is the tightest – the other side has a little more room. Motor depth is 63.5mm and a CFM of 1150 per fan.
The fans I used were Mishimoto 12 inch slim line. The critical factors are the depth of the fan & CFM it can pull.

IMG_2392.JPGIMG_2395.JPG

(Cables are temporary for now – they will be tidied!)

Although the fans do cool my 500E just fine it’s always nice to get as much air flow as possible. It’s cool here in Ireland most of the time so the fans aren’t under pressure. Not sure what temps you get in Russia but the higher flowing fan the better really. For example – on the tighter side run the 1150 CFM fan above (Or similar / equal) Then on the other side you could run a Race Spec Mishimoto 12 inch fan which can move 1850 CFM. This is also on the side of the Radiator where the hot coolant comes in so it would be effective and make best use of the space available since more depth is available on that side.

Also – this controller is very good & is what I am using. Fully & easily adjustable. Install instructions are also available in PDF on Mishimoto's website.

so we can use one fan of about 9cm width to increase cfm, right?

I say remove the decal. My PO rebuilt and painted the calipers and sadly clear coated over an AMG/// decal.

So the body was cryoblasted.
Some new problems opened but all in all everything is not so bad as it could be)
New parts came and body work in progress
