• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

Anybody wanting to swap a 210mm diff into a non-v8 car [that came with 185mm diff]: you need to shorten the rear driveshaft by 1 3/16" if you also use the later w210 6 bolt guibos. The 210mm diff has a longer snout on it, so the driveshaft is shorter.

Admin edit: Clarifying that some non-V8 cars came with 210mm diffs. Details in post #95.

Somehow, the main line of this thread ended abruptly. Who knows, what happened?

I pinged the owner of the car (viking1) and found out he was injured in late 2019. Unfortunately the injury resulted in not being able to bend his knee, and therefore means he can't drive any of his cars. The tech building his cars (S70/2) may be able to provide an update on the vehicle status, hopefully he'll chime in.

In the meantime, viking1 hasn't been able to access the forum, and is focusing on his animal rescue, Snyder Solutions Animal Rescue & Conservation group (link below). He's also working on creating a small "Mercedes museum" with his now-parked MB collection. This is located a bit north of Phoenix/Scottsdale in Carefree, AZ:
