Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

You need to create a grid/table (use the Advanced button below) to list out who has committed and their status. That's the only way to "shame" folks into paying, when it comes to 'group buys' :agree:

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Parts is starting to show up now. Hope to have wires coming in 4-6 days. Relays has been ordered hope to have them within 2weeks. So things are not standing still here.

So now i just need some more guys to pay up so the ASR buttons can be ordered.

Kind regards

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Have an order in for new switch sockets i am waiting on. Found out they are still available new last week. After a long and result less search for them used:doh:

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

I'm interested in getting in on this if you have any available that aren't already spoken for.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

I think the switch sockets has arrived too day. Was supposed to come last week but i have been out of town helping my grandmother with some maintenance at her cabin. I have not had time yet to visit my mb dealer parts guy yet. But hopefully i will get him before they close today.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Thanks for the update dude. Look forward to getting the kit and having the 500E traction free!

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Will be watching all the f1 shows, practices, qualifying and race while i work on it this weekend. So lets hope i can multi task.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Who wants to be the first one to receive a kit, install it and send me feedback on it.
So i can if necessary do any changes on them before i ship all of them out?

I'm driving around w/ a wheel speed sensor unplugged so a proper kit would be Nice as I Do actually prefer to have ABS functional...;-)

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

@Martin, please send (with how to instructions) and will let you know if it works like it supposed to . Have you not tested the kit with your own car ? If so, I think you should just send the ones that have paid and perhaps offer some sort of a guarantee ? No disrespect, and I realise you may have constraints, but we could be waiting till next year, sir!

I agree with you Bing, money talks. I was latest on phone with Martin during the weekend and I know he is putting efforts behind this to make it really good. I guess that is one of the reasons for the stretched delivery time too. But this is built of picked quality parts and made at a level beyond any ASR-defeat equipment seen to date - additionally the price is really good IMHO! :-)

Keep up the good work, Martin! :e500launch:

Was looking for someone that i just has to send one too. Easier if anything has to be changed. And someone in the EU.

Send me your address in a pm and i will ship one to you.
I have mouted it in my car last weekend. But still it can be stuff that i have overlooked because i have made it. Its easy to overlook things that can be hard to understand for others that might not have the technical insight as i have.

I know it has been taken some time. And i am sorry about that. But a lot of this has taken a lot of time finding the right products to use and some rounds of ordering stuff, than to find out its no good and have to start from scratch. This is prototyping, and anyone that has been down that road knows that it takes time. And as more guys wanted this i realized the quality needed to be top notch for me to feel good about selling them and the ease of installing it needed to as low as i can get it.
This last 7days i have had around 8-10hours a day working on this. Im about 90% done. Just quality controll and getting the ASR tops and mount them.

Thx Arnt ! ;D

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Bing - off topic, did you buy another E500 or is this for someone else?

Martin - appreciate your efforts putting this kit together - very much looking forward to having it mounted in my 500E.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Martin - any news on these mate? It's taken so long I've even sold my 500E, but I want the kit for my next one :)

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Bing/Martin - can you please let me know what is happening with this ? Cheers

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram (build with group buy)

Apologies, we haven't had time to install this yet. Been working on other projects.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Martin I thought this had been tested already? Is this not the same setup you had in your 500e? Can we just go ahead with the purchase? Bing sent me a pic, looks good.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Good news every one!
Every one that have payed for it will be shipped by the end of January.

If you still want this I will need at least a 50% deposit by the end of January. If not you will have to buy it from ebay when I have time to make another rounds of sets. The price on ebay might be higher as at the time im not making any money on this. Might even be loosing some.
I will not be contacting anyone that has said that they want this and has got the payment info from me. If you have not paid you will not get it. Simple as that.

At this time i have made an written tutorial on how to install it. I hope to have made a video on it as well at the time of shipping.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Hi, I am interested in the complete wiring setup. Could you send me a PM regarding payment details?

Just wondering, what are people doing to get the proper wood trim with the ASR panel?

I have a E500 Limited with black wood paneling, and would rather not damage it.

Edit: Nevermind! I see that you removed the alarm system LED thing, which is a great idea. :)
Can you just tuck it away inside the paneling?

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Yep used some zipties to hold it in place so it wont rattle. There will be some zip ties in the kit, for some people it will be enough and some might want to use more. Will send you a pm.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Alright, so here's a photo of my E500 LTD center wood trim, and I'm trying to figure out two things:

1) Does anyone know where I can find the parts number, or the actual trim in the same colour, BUT with 1 more extra slot? I have seen other E60 AMG Limited wood trims with every slot cutout.

2) What is that button on the right side of the hazard switch?

Ideally, if anyone can help me find the parts number of the wood trim with 1 more extra cutout, I would be able to fit the ASR defeat switch right on there. :)

To be specific, I'm looking for the E60 AMG Limited (which is different from the normal E60 AMG's burled walnut) black wood trim, with cutouts for every switch, would appreciate a Part Number.

Cheers

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Lynch i think you will have a really hard time getting a hold of new type of that wood. Both used and new. Its not the standard wood at all for the 500, 500 limited, e60 or e60 Limited. I have only seen this in some AMG cars so i think this was an option from them at the time. People like Arnt (500amm) will know more about this.

As i told you in the PM i recommend that you just take the snowchain button out and zip-tie it in place behind the panel. You really wound not need it after installing the ASR kit as they almost does the same thing.

The switch at the hazardswitch i believe is so that the alarm wont go of if the car moves. Lets say you take a ferry and there are some waves. The car will rock and the alarm goes of. If the button is pushed the car can rock/move some without going off.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Martin is right. Either replace an existing switch, or send the wood to Madera to have them add the hole to your existing wood. I'm almost certain the 9-hole BEM wood is NLA... just like the 9-hole walnut (standard) wood went NLA this past year.

:runexe:

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

I've sent an email to Madera Concepts; hopefully they'll be able to help. :)

The original AMG trim is in awesome condition, and I'd like to keep it original if possible. Most likely will see if Madera can make me a replica with 9 holes.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Kevin, I just realized something... if the photos in post #91 above are from your car, those are NOT stock wood pieces, and they are not factory either. That is an aftermarket console wood kit designed to mimic the R129 console. If you want a hole added, you'll need to send your existing piece to Madera. Or try to find the aftermarket vendor in Japan where it probably came from and see if they can sell you one with 9 holes.

:apl:

Hello,

I cannot view your pics when they are linked to a photo hoster, but based on your question the following about code 732 BEM panels (Birds Eye Maple) may be interesting:

HVAC panel:
As per the EPC it is only 4 panels in code 732; 2 for manual operation, and 2 for klima automatik
(a complete 9-hole switch row has never been an option in code 732)

Ashtray cover:
I have no vendor statement about the availability. But be aware that this PN consists of the ashtray cover + the "bridge" surrounding the ashtray. Both panels are cut from the same piece of wood to maintain the grain pattern across the panels.

Shift console panel:
As per the EPC it is only 2 panels in code 732; with/whithout the recess for the trip computer controls/auxilliary heater controls.

Front console rollo:
AFAIK it is still available in code 732

Rear console:
AFAIK is both the rollo and the cover plate above the ashtray still available in code 732.

The 4 dashboard lists:
From left: #1 #3 #4 are still available, while #2 has been NLA for at least 6+ years.

Door lists:
All 4 lists are available.

This is the latest info I have from a year back, so it may have changed now.

Arnt, I attached the images below - hopefully you can view them now. The first photo with the red rectangle over the blank spot is the one Lynch said is what he has in his car, the other one is what he's looking for.

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Okey. Time for an update.

Sorry they are not ready yet. But right now its not me where its standing still. Im waiting for the ASR buttons. Had to delay that order for a while as suddenly it was a rush of new guys that wanted the kit. And i didn't want to over order to many of them. And also this has been put a bit in the back of my mind as in December we had two deaths in close family and my uncle got colon cancer witch had spread to the lungs. But he has responded good to treatment so for now the doctors are happy and positive.

But everything else is ready I have each sets tested and packed. So as soon as the buttons arrive i can put the "ASR off" tops on the buttons and they will be out the door.
So to recap its the shipping from Germany to US to Norway witch is taking time now.

Will put a little Norwegian treat in them because of the delay. :arnt:

Re: ASR delete wiring diagram

Quick question to all. I was looking at the ASR switch diagram provided by modzona, with the switch turned off is abs still active? I'm trying to recall but its all part of the same module? And then the egas module is separate controlling the TB, etc? Thanks!
