Hello folks.

I have an opportunity to buy a stock C36 ECU for a back up part.

Wanted to know if anyone can help verify these part numbers for me.

'95 C36 module is HWA-202-545-95-32
'96 C36 module is HWA-202-545-87-32
'97 C36 module is HWA-202-540-11-45

My year 1995 C36 vin: WDBHM36E6SF247453

really appreciate it.

Actually I would like to get another, but they are rare to find and when you do, they are pretty used up. Same with the W202 C43.
hi @2phast right now is a great time to buy a C36 again. And its ok to get a pre-1997 car is totally ok and in my view better in some ways.

My early 95 C36 had part number hwa2025459532 and the car had ASR. That is all I can share.
Hi 2phast. This is just an FYI.
I was told today ECU for 1995 and 1996 were same for both ASR and non ASR cars. My mechanic buddy confirmed this.
ABS ASR are controlled by another ECM unit on the car as we already know. he actually swapped ECU's into ASR and non ASR cars and it worked.

Just to add some confusion, my ‘96 has 202 545 96 32
It seems to be listed as a 95 ECU everywhere I’ve looked for one though… mine seems to have lost its output to turn the fuel pump on :/

Wait a min, your ECU is VDO from a Europe or Japanese car. where are you located? i know of one for sale at $1,000 USD or so.

I’m in Australia. $1k usd is too much for me at this stage. I can work around it by jumping the power from the sunroof fuse to the fuel pump relay so it just comes on with the key on :p

ok. if that work around does the job, then go with it. you should really figure out how to fix your ECU. it will be a huge problem one day. other components may start to short and burn out.

Yeah

I’ve got some avionics guys at work that recon it’s fixable
Since my '95 C36 is higher mileage and more often driven, over the years I have purchased additional ECU's as back up.
I even found a great ECU remapper and i purchased year 1995 C280 m104 ECU's and had it custom mapped for my C36. so I have a bunch of back up ECU's lying around. These cars are 30+ years now, gotta have these computer module spares incase something goes wrong!

US car? Europe?
VDO or Bosch ECU?

Hello,
is 94/95 VDO europe

I have 2025459632, I released the immobilizer but the car won't working.

The Ecu I'm using is Bosch's 0135459832, but it's for 2.8 and it doesn't have an immobilizer.

I would like to leave the original car.

Before you get too excited. There's a couple of red, or at least yellow, flags in that seller's listing. First, it says "compatible with" which often means it's NOT the exact item you want. Second, it says "remanufactured", and AFAIK there's nothing to "remanufacture"... I don't like it when sellers claim something like this simply to inflate the price. Testing a used unit is not remanufacturing it. There is zero description. And, what's the odds of a seller having FOUR of a rare ECU part number? Finally, note the photos show no label or part number.

My guess: The seller has the ability to reflash these ECU's to whatever program / software / part number you want. They sell you a generic unit with the correct software, but it probably will not have the original part number / label... unless the seller applies a reproduction label. If you buy 2, they should be different date codes at least. If you get 2 with identical label / date codes, that would confirm my suspension.

Anyway. Be careful out there. Seller feedback is decent, so you might receive a valid product.

"Original spare part

I questioned this with the seller. About the label.

That's why I wanted the original software of this Ecu. Because I have a 2025459632 which is the same hardware. I was going to reschedule another eeprom and put it but I can't find it anywhere. And the seller said he doesn't have it.

what did the vendor say? its complete original VDO ECU with 2025459832 part number?? thats all you need to confirm.

VDO ECU is different than Bosch. VDO can not flash the eeprom. You can not get to it to de-solder and remove.

Yes, it is.

The memory is 27c210.

Just record the new flash and put it on.

My Ecu has a socket. Just take one out and put another.
