Custom Headlight Holder

Hello you all
I have been seeing these on some of the limited E500E and brabus models and was wondering if anyone know if those came stock on some models or if the owners has custom made theirs.

These were NEVER factory items. They are always aftermarket, custom-made.

Wasn’t the purpose of this to increase the Air intake? When the engineer of Porsche explained how the air flows in the gap above the headlight
Correct - the idea behind adding the slots below the headlight is to try and get some "ram air" effect to push more air into the airbox. What I don't know is if the trim panel area is high pressure or low pressure at high speeds (say, over 100mph / 160kph). I figure it can't hurt though.

And yes, it does nothing at lower speeds... not enough air pressure.

I don't think it's beneficial at all. It's better with one gap (small rectangular area) gives more focused air pressure that yield an uniformly flow pressure without turbulence occurs inside. Secondly the flow the air is taking on top is the most efficient way. Sorry for overthinking this! ^^

The catch is... airflow *above* the headlight, does not enter the intake tubes! (TimL posted the same thing while I was typing this, lol.)

There is a rubber seal along the leading edge of the hood that blocks air coming in. I believe the airflow comes in more around the inner edge along the grille, and definitely below the headlight. See photo below of the air intake "scoop" which surrounds the headlight. Very little air would enter the tiny gap between the top of the headlight, and the upper radiator support sheet metal:

Air intake next to the headlight main beams would, in theory, provided a significant "ram air" effect at higher speeds (say, above 100mph). But, most 036 owners would probably not want to give up their extra high beams.
