Hose Between Intake Manifold & Water Pump

I am getting ready to replace a coolant pump and I forgot to order the 57 mm long hose that goes from the water pump (intake pipe socket to be exact) to the intake manifold. I tried measuring mine, but the center is so much larger than the diameter of the male fittings at the ends that it's hard to tell. It looks to be about 1 3/4" to 2" at the ends. The dealer didn't have this hose in stock, so I was considering trying to match it with a house at NAPA, just to get the pump in for now. Does anyone know the outside diameter of the male fittings on this? Thanks.

I have my old Waterpump & hose still so I took some pics / measurements for you.

The Male fittings are 38mm diameter. My old hose had bulged out at the centre – but the new MB hose was straight through.

Thanks! That looks to be about 38mm/1.5" ID hose. My hose is bulged in the center too, so it's probably a ticking time bomb. BTW, if you order the Graf water pump from AutohausAZ (made in Italy), it does not come with the gasket for the pipe socket (MB#119 201 01 80) that mounts on top of the water pump. For whatever reason, they include the O-ring that comes with the later models that have the one-piece thermostat housing.

The front seal looked fine. No need to take the damper off on the later E420s. There is one water pump bolt that will not come off unless you rotate the crank until you align the notch in the damper with the water pump bolt head. There's just enough room to slide the bolt head out. Since the damper is not solid, the other bolts are easily accessible. No need to remove the tensioner, but the bolts around the alternator bracket need to be loosened so you can slide the new pump in without damaging the gasket.

I matched the short hose with a 1.5" ID hose from Autozone and then cut it to fit. My old hose was living on borrowed time.
