Just curiosity I ask about how many wheels your car have?

I´m little bit wheel feak so here what I have now. Few I have sold because little bit storage problems.

Now:
Carlsson 1 / 12 18" 8.5 & 10"(On my car now).
MB original "gullideckel" black 8 x 16" ET 34.
Brabus monoblock III 3pc. with 199 centers 9.5" & 10" ET20 & ET26(NEW).
Rial 8-hole 8 x 18" ET35(totally refurbished).

Old ones:
AMG 3pc. 17" 8.5" & 10" ET18 & ET17(NEW).
Brabus Monoblock IV black 8.5 x 18" ET35.
Mae 8.5 x 18" with black centers.
2 series MB 8 x 16" "gullideckel" ET34.
2 series original MB 8 x 16" 8-hole ET34.

I have two sets for my E500:

  • Rial 8-hole 8 x 18" ET35 (need to be repainted)

  • AMG Monoblock II 8 x 18" (front) and 9 x 18" (rear) (need to be refurbished - curb rash)

The Rial wheels are what I have been running on the car for the last 4-5 months. For the past 4-5 years before that, I was running the Monoblock II wheels. I have a brand new, unused set of tires waiting for the Monoblock II wheels after I have them refinished.

My car came with chromed 16-inch stock wheels. I sold them a couple of years ago as I didn't like them and only used them for a few months after I purchased the car (and got the 18" Rial wheels).

Cheers,
Gerry

Now

I guess I' am a one wheel guy, but I wanted an all in one wheel without any additional need for other wheels. So when time came to find a very light, forged, clean and simple wheel designs as well as being close to my location for any questions - HRE was my choice. And since I don’t drive the car in the snow, I do not have a need for any other wheels all year around.

Mine are 3pc, model 546 with a step lip - front 8.5 x 17 et27 and rear 10 x 17 et34.

And it seems im (almost) the only one who is not owning a set of EVO's although my car originally came with them...

I'm also looking for a set of Carlsson 1/12UL in 9,5j20 ET45 and 11j20 ET35 instead of my 19"ers they are out there, but pretty expensive!! anyone know how they will fit TECHNACALLY know there have been a beef against 20" look at 124!

I actually had an astral silver car. Sold it now because I really wanted to experience something else and I can only keep one car at a time. Maybe later in life when I have the space I'll pick one up.

The tires look a bit small, what size are they front & rear? Also what is the wheel width?

Those III's look great, though!

245/40 front, 255/40 rear. 255 front and rear would be a better combination.
Brabus TüV rcommends 245/40 front and 275/35 or 285/35 rear.
Narrower tires are better to drive.

I don't think they're very flattering on an E500E. They are mainly for older cars like the early 124s and the 126 cars (such as the 560SEC).

That's my opinion though.

Cheers,

The 19 inch dubble spook wheels are sold to a S-Classe owner.

We are looking to upgrade my car to a 6.0 liter engine this week so i am looking for 17" or 18" more pieces AMG wheel that came on the E60 AMG :e500launch:

Keep us updated with your project ;)

My car had AMG replicas painted in black when I bought it. I gave them back to the previous owner. Now it has the factory original 8 holes repainted. I also had a set of 17" Monoblocks also freshly painted/polished.

I really like that look (the painted sl wheels). It may just be the light but the wheels seem to match the cladding. I have often wondered what that would look like.
Thanks for showing us.

Yes, I think they matched the cladding. I don't know which pait he used. I should have asked him.

Thanks.

Hello.

Have you done any weight check on your 18" Neez Euro Six? I wonder what they could be compared to for example the 18" AMG mono II. And how is the finish on them compared to the original EVO II?

_______________
My wheels list is:
16" 8-hole (OEM)
17" AMG 3-piece (OEM)
18" AMG mono II (OEM)
18" MAE 3-piece (OEM)
(19" Brabus Mono III or 3-piece on the wish list :drool5:)

-arnt-

Hi Arnt , for the weight the spec are : 9,96kg F / 10,06kg R.

They are lighter than the 17" evo , don't know the weight of the
18" aero II , but i'm sure the AMG are much heavier .

The finish is pretty much the same as the 17" evo B66470084 , but the polished part on the Neez shine/ pops a little more , they look very well made , even better than the 17" .

Great, Patrice. :thumbsup2:

I'm looking for alternatives to my Limited, where I should go the original way and put on 17" EVO II. But 18" wheels looks so good on the E500/500E and even bigger wheels too, but the performance and comfort are sacrificed a bit with 19"-20". The 18" Neez Euro Six having the same style as EVO II could be very nice on the Limited. The weight is important - you know with light shoes you run faster.

-arnt-

Absolutely. The weight of wheels/tires makes a very obvious difference at the dragstrip, I've seen 2 tenths / 2mph difference just by swapping wheels.

:)

The wheels are on, tomorrow we have to lower the back with 2 a 3 cm because the MAE wheels where larger.

You can never have too many wheels imo....at the moment, I'm blessed with 3 sets of Monoblock IIs (18, 2@17) and a set of AMG Aero SL 2-piece in 18 (arriving Monday). All factory finished, no chrome.

for the colder season I put on the stock 8-hole 16"
In summer I will go back to AMG Mono II 17"

2 years ago I had CLS wheels with spacers on the car.
Looked nice but stearing wasnt that nice.

Would love to own Evo2.

Rudy

Don't normally keep more than one set of wheels, but recently went through hell and high water to get this set of SL AMG wheels and refinished them in gloss black.

Well just a few weeks after all that hell, found another set so cheap it would make you sick, haha. So now have another set to play with, maybe red this time, haha

Oh yea, tell me about it!!!

I bought two wheels from Ebay, one from another source and traded a E55 steering wheel/airbag for another. So my set came from three different people! The price was still right though, just a big PITA!

Refinishing cost me about eight bills. I went the cheap route with the tires though, received a set of Pilot Sport's and man that was a mistake. Noisy as hell and they slid all over the road in the rain. Never will cheap out on tires again! Bbought a set of General UHP tires to eliminate the problems mentioned.

How do you like the General UHP tires ?

They are a high performance summer tire which happen to be excellent in the rain and very quiet. Tirerack.com has them listed with a very high score (for being quiet). Forums and feedback (on Tirerack's site) was also very positive on these factors.

I have used these tires on all my cars for the last six years or so. Have not be able to find another tire that rates high in those three catagories.

Due to the weather where I live, I generally prefer an all-season tire (although I do put snow tires on at least one car for the bad ice/snow days). I am planning to try the Conti ExtremeContact DWS this spring, it seems to have excellent reviews in the "Ultra High Performance All-Season" category.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... ontact+DWS

Interestingly, Conti is the parent company of General. Both the General UHP and Conti DWS are a relatively lightweight tire, which is a bonus! I might try the UHP's sometime, the price is also attractive...

Yes, the General is a lightweight tire, at least compared to some of the other tires I have used.

The General is not a snow tire thats for sure, but I put a set of these on my sisters Hyundai and it did great in the snow. Could just be the FWD factor though. Never tested the snow capabilities personally.
