I damaged my sunroof...

Please don't ask how it happened... I still cannot believe I was soooo stupid to damage it...:doh::doh::doh: Anyway, the damage is done and I need to fix it. See the pictures below - do I need to replace the deflector only (part #9) or both hinges as well (part #21)? I think deflector only but I prefer to ask first.

Second question - can it be fixed without taking apart the whole sunroof mechanism? Deflector was the only part that I left untouched when overhauling the whole mechanism, I was not sure how to take it out. I think I read something that it can be replaced without too much fuss with the sunroof open only but, frankly speaking, I'm not sure when looking at it. Any experience?

How did that happen? (kidding!) :D

If the hinge (#21) is not damaged, it appears all you need to do is replace the deflector (#9). You will probably also need two of 124-782-00-46 as well, these small plastic clips (for the metal spring) are usually broken.

Pretty sure this can all be repaired from above with the roof opened.

You can fix the deflector without taking apart the whole sunroof mech. If I remember correctly the deflector comes off easily and it's a matter of removing #13 and popping off part #21. What do you mean by 'overhauling the whole mechanism'? Once you have deflector removed you will be able to assess damage. If you do need part #21 I think it may be left/right specific.
