I'm aiming to Buy this AMG E60 just need help

The E60 sold for 33,000 euro it would be 34,000 at least after taxes in japan agent fees and the other little bits they add on. To import the car to Ireland here's how it would pan out roughly, if you were to ship by container then it would be 2000 euro, I have calculated using the RORO boat which is cheaper.

Purchase price 34,000
shipping 750
_____
sub total 34,750.
Duty 10% 3,475.
_______
subtotal 38,225.
VAT 23% 8,791.
_______
subtotal 47,010
MCC 220
road transport 350
________
subtotal 47,580.
VRT 33% 19,800
_______
Total 67,380 Euro.

still looks cheap compared to the 2 on mobile.de for 89k euro with higher mileage. In the UK you have 19.5% VAT and no VRT so it's happy days for you guys

omsp is calculated by the average sale price out there now,This is is €60,000 based off Mobile.de. so VRT is then calculated at 33% of 60,000.

That is a genuine E60 AMG (code 957) but it has been modified significantly. The AMG Gen2 body kit was not original equipment and was never intended for use on the 036 chassis, the bumpers and side skirts have to be "stretched" to fit the fender flares. I've seen a few 036's with body kits, but it's pretty rare. I personally like the look, but it's not technically correct and won't help future resale value. Of course the body kit could be removed and the car could be returned to stock again, but OMG, $$$$ to do that. I bet AMG Japan installed the body kit and rear muffler too.

Justin, I noticed the seats as well. Not sure what is going on there, but the leather isn't stock, can't tell if the seats are stock or not. I'm hoping the connector on the passenger airbag is just stuck on the front with the wire routed through the lower seam, I can't imagine anyone actually cutting into the airbag itself.

The car looks really nice, it's a shame they don't post more photos on these JDM auctions!

:apl:
check the E60 below, looks to have the same interior as the one in japan, I read elsewhere that you could have whatever interior you wanted fitted not just Recaro.

http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-insera...O_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&export=ALSO_EXPORT&noec=1

and this one looks to have the same steering wheel and interior

The E60 at the link above has the correct factory seats/interior. You could not have any interior you wanted fitted by Mercedes, but after they sold you the car, then sure, you can have it modified. The Japan car shown in the photos in post #1 on this thread does not have factory seats, look carefully at the seams of the leather. Can't tell if they are recovered stock seats, or completely different seats. Bottom line, Mercedes did not sell the Japan car with the current seats.

The E60 at this link has a modified factory steering wheel, with wood added (pretty sure this was NOT a factory option, but I'm not 100% certain). The interior is non-Limited, so there would be some question as to this car's originality. Need the VIN to check the datacard for code 958. All of the Limiteds came with the colored geometric pattern on seats and door panels, but you had the choice of walnut or maple wood. This car has the maple. If it is a code 958 car, it's possible the interior was replaced at some point. The 300kph odometer was not factory either, so I have a suspicion this car is not a Limited, and could possibly be a "converted" E60 (no code 957 either). Again, the VIN would be needed for confirmation...

Germany and UK the likes you are looking at €45k, give or take , landed cost then.

This one must have been a bargain http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat...XPORT&noec=1at at the auctions then.

I know that dealers have a business to run but this just goes to show how much they slap on! Last 2 E60s in the uk , both ex japan and discussed here, were asking £80k+ but no one knows what they actually went for.

@Richard , VRT in Ireland is a joke! Feel for you, sir!

I will take an EXTENSIVE look in the race car area when I am there next weekend. I know for 100% sure that there is no 190E Evo I or II in the main car display area on the floors, nor in the Young Classics area because there currently is NO Young Classics area based on my visit there about 2 weeks ago today.

Undoubtedly the actual COLLECTION of the Museum is far larger than the cars that they display on the floor; hence the short-term "rotating" displays around current topic areas (right now it's actually the C-Class, coincidentally). I've no doubt they have an .036 or two squirreled away, but I've never seen one displayed in the Museum itself. They do have a C126 and W126 in the permanent display (sitting atop a car carrier) and a 300SEL 6.3 since the Museum opened in 2006.

I will go on a quest to make doubly sure there is no EVO displayed in the race car gallery.

Cheers,
Gerry

This is the full photo collection for the Mercedes museum (2010). Couple of 500e pictures in there, kind of ugly with cloth interior. You can also see a couple of the EVO's that were on display at that time.

Based off of forum posts and photo time stamps (of other photos), the Sonax EVO II race car has been displayed in the museum since 2007 (at least, maybe longer). I can't confirm all years though, just 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013. Kind of tells me its on perm display and not a rotating like the other EVO's.

Great photos, love the cloth interior !

Thank you for the great pictures, Rik! I couldn't help but laugh to myself though, as I saw that your voice recognition program obviously inserted "kind of ugly" instead of "magnificient" "with the cloth interior"...

I'll be there in 6-7 days so will give a full report of any and all W201s on display.

A Evo II is on display in the race car area and it has been there for quite a while, I can't say if its a perm display, but I have pictures of it in that area over a several year period. Klaus Ludwigs race car to be exact.

http://www.sternenkreuzer.net/mercedes-190-2-5-16-in-der-dtm/

The point is the museum has EVO's, regardless of whether or not they are rotating or on perm display. The silver EVO II (if indeed they have it) has never been put on display (or proved to be on display) which could mean it isn't in any shape to be displayed (since it was a "test" vehicle) or they really don't have it. I beat that issue to death a long time ago and to date, no new information has come forth. BUT, if you happen to see it during your visit, do me right and take a picture of it!!!!!!!

Well, I have to eat some SERIOUS crow with my prior statements about an Evo 2 not being on permanent display in the MB Museum. There IS, in fact, one on permanent or long-term display in the race car section.

I went to the Museum for 2.5 hours this morning (Friday) and walked the whole thing, and took a photo of every single W201 on display in the entire building.

This is what I found:

First, a few additional photos of the experimental W201 on display in the parking garage. I parked my Volvo just a few yards away.

Next, a few photos of Ringo Starr's AMG 190E, mostly cosmetics with a slight engine upgrade. Done by Stratton in the UK.

Next up, a couple of pedestrian 201s on display to illustrate the model.

Then, it was the Evo II in the race car area:

And lastly, at the Museum exit, a W201 model as part of the rotating C-Class display:

The only thing I have to say for myself is that the Evo II is tucked away at the end of the race car display area. You enter through a tunnel and I've always turned LEFT toward the older Silver Arrow cars rather than to the right where there are just a few race cars that include the Evo II.

Sorry for the misinformation and for being so insistent about it.

Yeah, go ahead BUT be sure to get included, the oem steering wheel, the oem wheels and the front seats, and I see AMG E50 exh. tips?
A car in that price range should at least be true to the Original.......as allways be sceptic with Jap cars, Roger

Those mats and seats look stunning. Beautiful E60. The Japan pics don't show much however I guarentee you the buyer in Germany had to tart the car up a little before marketing it. Some of those JDM cars are rough.

I recently inquired for a certain E60 W124 in Japan , it is IMHO immaculate but they asked around 70k euro over there... that would be 100k euro in Netherlands...

No chance...
