Lorinser RS90 18x9 fitment on E500

Has anyone attempted to fit the 18x9 ET37 RS90s on an e500? I have a set a friend found at a junkyard for me very cheap. I will be refinishing them, but beforehand would like to know what is required to fit these on my e500. I know hybrid bolts will be needed as the bolt holes are m14. My main question is if I need to run fender spacers and what sort of wheel spacers would be required. Thank you in advance!

No need for fender spacers or mods, the concerns will be clearance to the strut tube, and from the caliper face to wheel spokes. Only way to find out is to test fit...

Ingvar, thank you! you were 100% correct. the wheels do fit and not hit the strut, and just (I mean just) clear the face of the caliper with no spacers but look very tucked in. With a 10mm spacer it is perfect!

What 10mm spacers are you using? With H&R you can only have 3mm, or 15mm, due to the design of the grease/dust cap.
I just had some cheapo non hub centric spacers lying around to test fit, I haven't found proper spacers yet. On that note, where can I buy the hybrid bolts/studs? I can find plenty of m14 to m12 studs out there, but cannot for the life of me find m12 to m14 studs or bolts.

Wish I had found this thread earlier. When I bought my E420, it had a set of Lorinser RS80s (16 in, ET33) with 10mm spacers. In the front, the wheels were contacting the fender over even tiny bumps. My initial thought was thought was to remove the spacers, but when i tried, i found the the wheels will no longer clear the break calipers.
I know that the 124 does not have the flared fenders, so the fitment is different that for a 500e, and i ended up getting a different set of OEM bens wheels that fit great.
My question is: Are some lorinser wheels designed to be run with spacers? Because the face of the wheel is recessed, looking at the inside of the wheel, there seems like there would be not clears for breaks on ANY car without some spacer.

Thanks!

In general, no. Any wheel manufacturer wants their wheel bolted directly to the hub, without a spacer. They'll probably tell you the same thing I would... get a wheel with the proper width+offset that clears everything without spacers.

Clearance between the wheel face (inside surface) and brake caliper is the 1 thing you cannot tell from wheel dimensions (width/offset). If those Lorinser wheels would not clear on an E420, which has some of the most wheel-friendly calipers fitted to any 124, my guess is those wheels were meant for a completely different chassis with even MORE clearance to the caliper.

Are they unique to the E420? As in not shared with E320, or E500? If so why....

Depends on the E420... USA and Japan models have 294x25 front brakes and those calipers should clear almost any wheel. These brakes are shared with the late 124's with 3.2L M104 HFM engines (most 1993-up USA model year 300E/E320).

However, E420's in ROW (excluding USA/Japan) were upgraded to 320x30 front brakes and those calipers do not clear some factory wheels. Break point for ROW production was as of chassis B938569. These were shared with the 500E/E500 as of late 1993 USA model year production and also require 16" minimum wheel diameter.
