Lower wiring harness not longer available?

It's been NLA for a while. Options are to repair it yourself, send it to Blue Ridge for rebuilding, or purchase the repair kit (which re-uses your existing large B+ wire and brackets/O-rings) from Kurth Classics in Germany.

:shocking:

Thank you GSXR, is this a complete cable harness or is it just the parts, do I need to build it by my self?

It's a repair kit. You use this kit plus parts from your old harness to create a rebuilt harness. Some assembly required, etc.

:pc1:

R&R'ing the harness is the worst part of the job, it's a medium difficulty.

Rebuilding the old harness using the repair kit is relatively easy, even for an electrical amateur. You might want to look into adding some heat shield sleeving while doing this, although it will add to the cost... IIRC, Gerry posted about this years ago?

Yes disconnect battery. Disconnect everything under car first, then engine bay. Take pictures of the engine bay routing. Then get yourself a 15’ length of nylon twine so it is strong. The electrical connection, remove the plastic and take picture of wire orientation in plug. “Remove” steal bracket support., attach rope to end tape up end robustly. Feed line down out of engine bay. Once the end with the rope is on the ground, remove the rope from the harness. You will reattach your rope to the new harness. Remove that metal bracket and plastic cap from new unit, tape rope to end and pull back up to the engine bay, thru clam-shell at the firewall. Remove tape, install bracket and plastic wire plug. Easypeazy.

Change out oil level sensor and o ring since you are there, or not if you recently did oil change.

Edited on PC for Iphone typos - see below on the oil level sender change out - I forgot to clarify)

FYI - replacing the oil level sensor is recommended if old/leaking, but this requires draining the sump and taking off the lower oil pan.

It would be easier if you have small hands. I did this job all went well until I tried reconnecting the electrical. A real PITA but doable. If I recall I just changed the hardened O-Rings to fix the leak. The sensor was fine.
Remember to get a new pan gasket.
