Hola.

Hello. I'm thinking of buying a 1993 MB 300 E that's about to go on sale. It doesn't have much mileage, but I'm worried about what I've read about faulty wiring. Do you have any information that could help me make my purchase? I read that the 1992 and 1993 MB 190 E don't have this problem.

What engine is in the 1993 300E you are thinking of buying? If it's the M103, there's no issues with wiring. None of the cars with M103 engines had faulty wiring insulation.

However - since your subject line mentioned 2.8L, that will be the M104 engine with HFM electronic injection, which IS affected. Check to see if the engine wire harness has been replaced with the updated type already, otherwise that will need to be done.
