MEC Design cat back system

Does anyone have experience with exhaust systems from MEC Design? They lowered their prices considerably over the last months. I’m tempted..

No experience, but that looks very similar to Fox but at a higher price. Have you looked into Fox?

Looks like a good deal if its with the ABE. Do they make the Cats as well ?

@195910, I don’t need the »Allgemeine Betriebs Erlaubnis», I live in Norway . Don’t know if they make cats.

I have the Fox cat-back on one of my cars. The fitment & quality is pretty good, and I'd buy them again. I have the type with middle muffler / resonator, but next time I'd like to try the Y-pipe version for even more rumble.

I don't think Fox offers a catalyst pipe though? Only cat-back systems. Leistung / 5thscaleracer in USA offers full custom manifold-back systems with catalyst but they aren't cheap.

Ended up ordering the Fox catback (middle muffler and back box) system. Lower price (934Euros including shipping to Norway) and a more professional response than from MEC Design..

I ordered a full custom SS exhaust system from local exhaust shop. ( Lakesteel , only Finnish website) (Haven't received yet, it will be custom made and installed by shop) Shop has made about all of the Finnish E500E cars SS-exhausts, very well known shop in here. They promised to make it 2k€, including cats.

I'll let you know when my car goes to installation.

Turns out the muffler with original style turndown end pipes is no longer available from Fox, they can only offer a straight type which will require modification to the rear bumper. So after being disappointed by MEC and Fox I turned to Leistung Autohaus/5thscaleracer. No disappointments there, I‘m now waiting for his 2A catback system to arrive .

Well, I do see the turndown type still being offered on Ebay.de and by other vendors. But I’m happy with my choice.

Thanks for the update!!! Glad to hear this is still available. The Leistung kit is fantastic but costs more than double compared to Fox, so it's nice to have an affordable option for anyone Ballin' On A Budget®.

My Fox exhaust was made to order - I was under the impression that's how it always was but perhaps they did carry limited stock at times. Mine took weeks to be shipped due to being made first IIRC.
