FYI OE / OEM crankshaft position sensor (CKP) review

Received my "OEM Supplier" CKP today from AHAZ. It's Hella, made in Spain, identical to what RME is selling. Both are ~$70.

If anyone buys from FCP, please report what you receive. If they are selling a different/better item for $100, it would be nice to know:

I just ordered it. Will let you know

No worries, Joe. Maybe peek at the connector and see if a logo is visible (some brands may not show the logo here).

Clarkpic below shows the AB Electrik logo:

Sorry for the huge delay in checking this.... just waking my S500 up from slumber tonight. Still looks freshly restored 😋

This is the genuine MB sensor I had on the shelf which appeared identical and did fit AOK (may not be exact part number chassis asks for though)

The car hated the new Lucas sensor. But was happy with this new MB one

So I have ordered a replacement CKP sensor from FCPEuro, should I shim this sensor? I thought i read somewhere that MB issued a TSB suggesting this, or should the replacement sensor be installed as is?
Did MB print an air gap spec for the CKP sensor? I found an air gap spec for CMP sensor 0.4-0.6 mm, but nothing for the CKP sensor yet.
Also does anyone know where i can find a known good scope waveform pattern for the CKP and CMP sensors and or the TD and TN signals from the EzL module?

If you aren't getting a persistent code on EZL (pin 17), skip the 0.5mm shim. I don't think it will hurt though, if you want to add one.

I don't believe there was any spec for the CKP, as the air gap cannot easily be measured.

Not sure about the waveform pattern - don't know if MB published one.
