To add to the confusion I see the AMG 45 book has different numbers. So much for this expensive book. It states:Let's make it a bit more complicated, there are also E70 with LH-SFI, and E72 with ME 1.0.
The ariok47 having E72 ME 1.0.
And there are even E70 with LH-SFI with 386 kW / 525ps / 518 hp, @ 5900rpm, with unknown Nm/tq to me.
As shown in #15 1st image.
Looks like the bore/stroke numbers are reversed? Bore is always in the 89-92mm range (never 80 or 97).SL 70 (97/98/ME1.0) is 7,055cm3 but with 97mm bore and 92mm stroke. 750Nm and 496HP
SL 73 (99-01/ME1.0) is 7,291cm3 but with 80.2mm bore and 92.4mm stroke. 750Nm and 525HP although "torque increased from 720Nm"
These two are easy to solve. 97 x 92 makes 8158 cm³, and 80.2 x 92.4 makes 5601 cm³.To add to the confusion I see the AMG 45 book has different numbers. So much for this expensive book. It states:

Hey, an 8.2L M120! Now you have my attention!These two are easy to solve. 97 x 92 makes 8158 cm³, and 80.2 x 92.4 makes 5601 cm³.
Yeah... any time I find glaring errors in what should be a "bible"... it makes me really suspicious about the accuracy.Makes me wonder what else is wrong in this book now.
Thanks, I'm always impressed with how fast that engine seems to turn over when starting.
yessir I will post todayThanks, I'm always impressed with how fast that engine seems to turn over when starting.
Any chance of some photos or a video of the whole car?
Haha. But ariok47 already showed several on previous pages, incl. the Artcurial link. Maybe you missed them.

I don´t have it. I only know about this E70 Power Pack for a few days now.Is there any factory documentation mentioning the "power pack" ? Price list / brochure ?
I already called the R129 Club in Germany, they don't know much about the AMG variants.I don´t have it. I only know about this E70 Power Pack for a few days now.
Maybe ariok47 has it?
I've sent an email to Britta Buchmann of Sothebys. That is where i first read about it.
I've also sent a DM, via Instagram, to the r129slclub in Germany. Maybe they know?
It would have been easy to have The Emperor force-choke him to produce the photos faster….Ariok47, thanks. To be honest i didn't expect you anymore to post these images.
That you did anyway i truly appreciate.
One question, where is the epsilon symbol and compression ratio?
Yeah that is accurate. I don't know why but Mercedes didn't. Same for the W140 chassis. The seller of this SL73 is claiming no SL73 has code 957. Is that accurate? Seems odd to me:
"We also have notes on our end that no SL73 has the code 957. This code is said to have only come on the regular SL600's before being converted by AMG, and prior to the first registration."
Right, I couldn't make any sense of it. To add a bit more, I had looked at 140.042/043/050/051/056/057/063/070/076, all V8/V12, and none have the 957/990 codes except for two which I would imagine were added later.Fascinating. I wonder why MB had code 957 for the M119 only, and not the M120.

I only know of this one. Mercedes VIN Decoder | Decode Your Mercedes-Benz VINTo add a bit more, I had looked at 140.042/043/050/051/056/057/063/070/076, all V8/V12, and none have the 957/990 codes except for two which I would imagine were added later.
The second one is WDB1400501A208240.The other being .....?
Couldn't find that engine on any of the 076 chassis@WDB748372 Can you find VIN by this engine number?
It belongs to this badged SL72 from 3/1998, but has M120 7.0 in the car registration document.
