Hello people
So, is there a decent observation to which flexdiscs are worth getting these days....i want the sgf ones, but have not found any certain clues to if that is the ones living in Febi boxes,or other of the aftermarket ones.

Recently (meaning 2023), the SGF flex discs were known to be re-packaged in DORMAN (cheap US brand) for CHEAAAAPPPP) . See here: Rear differential removal | Transmission and Driveline

More info in this thread. Febby should be an OEM disc with aftermarket hardware (you may choose to re-use your old hardware).

I'm not sure if Dorman is still supplying SGF discs, if you buy Dorman, make sure it's from a vendor that allows returns (ideally, free returns, e.g. Amazon). There are no recent reviews to confirm what's in the box. Half the price of Febi kit (but, Dorman does not supply any hardware).

OE is NLA (and, was verrrry expensive).

@lowman Where and when did you source them, price too?
I bought them from a swedish car parts site called www.Skruvat.no ( im from Norway though). I paid roughly 97 GBP for one.I just got them in the mail here the other day.(.as the video says in the title..Sept 2025.)When it comes to where to source them...i would reckon you should not be afraid that you are risking NOT getting the real deal if you get them from basically anywhere. Though i wouldnt say that you should wait a year..cause then stuff could change.Though i do think these will be what you get in Febi boxes, for a long time. Just as an example....The Febi boxed steering damper for our cars, contain a genuine Stabilus steering damper,,and its been that way for at least 7 years...

Expensive and also out of stock :(
Always buy the one with new hardware in the box. The price is about the same anyway.

Hey, check out FEBI BILSTEIN Drive shaft coupler in the AUTODOC app https://m.autodoc.co.uk/febi-bilstein/1867455

Use this code and we both get £ discount (anyone can use the same link if you haven't used Autodoc before)

What do you mean by this?
Febi list the same guibos either bare as a single item OR the guibo + all new hardware to mount it in the box for about the same price.

Always put the OEM part number into autodoc and it will find the correct cross references for you.

In some countries, its not " around" the same price. Also, for me, it was no point in paying a fourth of the price, just to get new hardware, when id rather keep the original hardware.

Thanks, I was tired when I wrote that, in my mind they are simply fixings etc.
Do check around, and see what prices you can get :) There are many vendors around, Autodoc is one. Ebay is also a great option. In my case, when it comes to the hardware/fixings,i did not want to pay for hardware that i do not need.As i want to keep the original hardware/fixings,,as they are in perfect condition.

I havent got access to WIS this morning but I'm pretty sure they are one time use bolts?

The nuts are locking type with a slight crimp on them when new. Any Febi bolts I have recieved before with flex discs are the same as original, spun galvanised items. High quality. I'm all for original fasteners, but not where the application is safety critical and they are one use bolts.

As GVZ said, this is a great saving and has been known about for years. Hopefully Febi don't cheap out at any stage and start making them themselves which can happen with some parts.

Thanks @JC220 and @lowman - I'm not actually sure if I need replacement flex discs but I will investigate. I have no record of a replacement in my car's history file so it is probably more likely than not that they are old.

It is very useful to hear some of these "good parts" to source are still available via updates like this thread.
