I am told by a W140 expert that it seems to be a common uprating mod. in the USA if you want more power
to fit an EGAS ECU from a W140 part no 012 545 6232. Possibly the heavier W140 body needed extra fuel?

I doubt this given the knowledge here but...

Jim, by any chance were you talking to Carl at "140.co.uk" ? Just bought a LH module from him today for a friend and he mentioned that a 500e owner was looking for a ETA and asked if I had one or know who has .. Is it you who needs a ETA?

Bing,

Yes I found Carl via His Ebay shop. I was looking for an ETA and in the email exchange He mentioned the EGAS "upgrade"

Never heard of anyone swapping the E-GAS module from a W140, not sure if that would work at all, or if there would be any advantage.
Yes...Egas did not sound right...Thanks for keeping us straight Dave.

I've emailed Carl with ETA part#, early and late type, for 036s to see if they match up with any W140s same displacement .
W140's use different ETA's, with longer cables due to the larger engine compartment.
