The attached document tells the story.

The last picture shows the car when it was still in Kuwait.

Not sure if I was just unlucky with the long lines at the border...but I have not been back since.

I am planning to go next week-end or the week-end after but I will plan my journey so Im at the Border when it is cooler. Possibly I will try the Hatta Crossing...making sure I get fuel on the Oman side as fuel is hard to find once you are over the Border into UAE at Hatta.

I hope you enjoy the read..

Jim.

Nice road trip story Jim, I have only ever used the Hatta crossing, it's fairly painless except blink and you miss the UAE border post, it's another few miles up the road to the Oman border and many get sent back down the road for the exit stamp that they forgot to acquire on the way through (ask me how I know).

How did you get the car from Kuwait?

Thanks Fudge...Sea Freight...Did not fancy road haulage so just box it up...also had a few extra wheels etc. in the container so that kept them secure rather than have them "falling off the back of a lorry".

Used to live in Oman, in Muscat, in the late-80's to mid-90's, when W124's were new --- loved living there --- and would love to see some more photos of your 500E there!
