Not a car I would want as a daily driver, but it is perfect for her to drive back and forth to work. It's hard to argue with 49 mpg in city driving. She loves the car.
My idea of a hybrid is my Kirkham Motorsports Cobra. They really do call them hybrids- it has the 289 body, but the 427 coil-over suspension and sturdier frame.
My wife used to own a Lexus RX400h AWD with two electric motors and that thing was very fast 0-60 in 7 seconds, for an SUV. Those electric motors are all torque immediately. It was a very nice vehicle, but she traded it on the CT200h because she just did not need the SUV anymore since the kids are grown and no longer hauling kids around.

I always loved the Cobra. I used to park on the ramp at LAX facing the building where Carol Shelby built the originals. I only discovered that when a flight engineer who had a Shelby Mustang pointed it out. You could have the hottest and most expensive Mercedes in the world and I guarantee that people will be pointing at the Cobra if they both showed up together.
About 20 years ago that 427 block was going for over $10,000. Are they even available today?

Like some of my older cars from the 50's... I mentioned that I made them run on alternative fuel. Premium gas with leaded Avgas.

Yes, I used to run 100-octane low-lead a gas in my 300SEL 6.3. I'd drive across the Columbia River to the now-defunct Evergreen Airfield to the pump, where I'd fill 'er up. I remember being angry at the $2.50 price per gallon, when Chevron Super was running about $1.30-50 a gallon.......
