Hello all. I have what appears to be a complete FGS kit from Bergwerks. Could anyone confirm by looking at these photos and does anyone have installation instructions? Many thanks

That is not a Bergwerks unit, it is a FGS Switch. Had one in my 500E, works well, although you need to connect it to a computer for programming. Yours appears to be a newer model than mine. Mine had a serial port for the interface, you have a USB.

Thanks, much appreciated, I had thought Bergwerks made these kits. Instructions are very useful I’ll take a look today.

Bergwerks produced a completely different FGS module that uses the Hall speed sensor wire (green/yellow), no need to cut & splice coaxial cables. BW also offered some optional extra functionality, like auto door lock above X mph, and selectable 1-2 upshifts to allow normal & "Sport" modes. I've never owned the FGSswitch version and don't know if that has similar capabilities.

No, there have been two different FGS products over the years -- first BergWerks, which went out of production around 2004 or so, and later on FGSSwitch, which was done by another company overseas and also went out of production some years ago.

Completely different in concept and execution.

The instructions for the BergWerks FGS are posted here as a PDF.

Perhaps someone here who has used an FGSSwitch has the instructions for that product and can post them.

Cheers,
Gerry

doolar, Can you pm me? I am interested in the software and the Fgsswitch if you still have it.

Thank you,

Pete
Hi, I have the FGS Switch and software still, but I can't send you a PM for some reason. Could you try and send me one?

Terry is correct. One of you will need to post an email address, then after you connect privately, you can edit the post to delete the email.

This was a safety measure to reduce the problem with scammers sending PM/DM's to board members, selling items that don't exist.

Have one in my car, works as advertised. I wired it so it can be enabled/disabled with the rear window child lockout switch. Also added a small blue led in the shift surround that comes on when 1st gear start is active. Not sure how useful this mod is, just allows you to “chirp” the tires from a standing start with a heavy foot.
