The rest of my parts order just arrived now from MB Naperville. Ordered on 4/3, arrived on 4/13. I can't complain, given the current conditions and short staffing.Yesterday (Friday) I received one item from my order, which arrived via FedEx and was drop-shipped directly from the MB warehouse in Robbinsville, NJ. I have not yet received the other items of the order, though mboemparts.com has marked the order now as "Ready to Ship". I expect that I'll receive it this coming week sometime.
I placed an order through MB Annapolis (www.getmercedesparts.com), which uses the same Revolution Parts platform as MB Naperville, and actually offers a 1-3% lower price than MB Naperville. I have a special arrangement with the Internet parts manager at MB Annapolis not to charge me shipping (because I'm local), although they do charge me the 6% Maryland sales tax, which MB Naperville does not.
But MB Annapolis' parts department is operating, and I confirmed this earlier last week by phone. I was told that MB parts was on a Friday Easter Holiday, but that I should have most all of my parts by Tuesday, or Wednesday next week at the latest. A couple of small clips are coming from Germany.
Ten days after ordering (including two weekends) my parts have arrived, exceeding my expectations. I suspect it’s a function of from where the parts are originated. If they’re coming from a warehouse in your state or country, maybe you get them quicker.I’m just off the phone with them placing an order. They used to have 4 people working parts, now just one due to CV19. That gentleman (“Bob” IIRC) says he’s 5-10 days behind processing orders. I suppose I could have paid for expedited shipping and foregone the promo, but talking to him it didn’t seem like that would get my stuff in a box any quicker, it would only affect the manner of shipping afterward. Plus I have enough to hurry about, so this ain’t that. More first world problems — hobby parts take longer.
maw
Yes, 500EPROMO.Is there a promo code that works as of right now?
Yes, 500EPROMO.

It's not just Naperville's site. It's all dealers using the RevolutionParts platform, which is basically every single dealer in USA that sells parts online at a discount. They all have insane shipping costs. And each dealer has their own pricing matrix as well. Naperville's claim to fame was the free ship option with promo code. Sure hope it hasn't gone away.Shipping costs on this site are ridiculous. Im paying 20 dollars shipping on a 30 dollar order sort of thing lol
Sorry @PJmak, I had no problems as of April 3, same as Gerry.Just tried it, its 50% off shipping.
Theres no other code? Shipping costs on this site are ridiculous. Im paying 20 dollars shipping on a 30 dollar order sort of thing lol
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!Unless this is a temporary thing, they've lost my business. I'd rather go local and have someone's throat to choke, if needed. When I go in and pick up my parts this week, I'll talk to Eddie (the Internet order manager) to see if they will create a code for our site for free shipping.
I don't have a lot of faith that they will, but you never know until you ask.THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Yeah, it's happening again... see this every few months or so, where many valid part numbers have not found / no results. Should be fixed soon, but for the moment it's a PITA. The issue is with their search engine, not the back-end database. This is affecting ALL the RevParts dealers, not just Naperville.BTW -- is anyone having problems typing part numbers into Revolution Parts sites, or is it just my computer that is having issues? Everything I type in (valid part numbers) is coming up with PART NOT FOUND errors.
PelicanParts' prices are all over the map, but most of the time they DO NOT compare to Naperville or other Revolution Parts dealership sites.
The only other site I know that provides free shipping is MB Annapolis (getmercedesparts.com), but that's by special arrangement![]()
I'll talk to Eddie (the Internet order manager) to see if they will create a code for our site for free shipping.
Guys and Gals - I just spoke to Bob at Naperville. He is the only employee processing orders, and they are unable to obtain additional staff and that is BEYOND HIS CONTROL.
The PROMO CODE for this forum has been modified, and after a discussion we agreed to the following: 50% shipping cost will be paid for by MB of Naperville, you will pay for your half. If you finds a better deal elsewhere, do so. Establish a relationship and work for the greater good of the community, constructively. Bob recognizes the value of the forum's relationship and he wants to continue to support us, as a valuable part of his business. However times and economics have changed and he needs a bit of consideration and I think that it is fair. You will vote with your feet obviously or your orders as the case may be. The reality is what it is, and he sends his regrets for the situation. He has firmly expressed that one should really try to order once per week, month etc and have your ducks in a row. Ordering multiple parts for $7 over 6 order numbers is not going to make the relationship even close to binary where both parties win. So as it has always been, plan ahead and try to get all your parts in an order that exceeds $50-$100, that helps out alot when the store has very little revenue and no ability to do service or sell cars that they pay for.
So like it or not Bob has agreed to change the terms of his deal: ALL ORDERS will get 50% off the shipping for that order using the promo code. This is a temporary measure and could revert back to what it was when things rebound. Know this: he values our hobby and needs to share the shipping cost. He is one person, and is doing the best he can. If he sees one person making orders for 3 crush washers or some other $7 part using forum code then he should get in touch with the buyer if he has time or just not fill it.
We need to do our part here people, it isnt perfect but it is an olive branch by someone quite overwhelmed with their circumstances. Again, if you have a better deal for our community then make it, and bring it to GVZ for approval. For now, Bob thnks us for understanding and hopes that the 50% rebate on shipping with the code on all orders will be that olive branch going forward and when normal staffing returns, so could the shipping parameters.
Bundle your orders together, and at least place one single $50 or $100 or $200 order instead of 6 or 7 orders for $5 or $10. It's MUCH less work for them, and it saves them shipping costs when YOU plan ahead and put in fewer, larger orders rather than multiple tiny orders.
I've always been surprised there wasn't a minimum order amount required. That's a simple way to prevent abuse, and also ensure they don't lose money spending $5 to ship a $3 item they made $0.50 on. I suggested the same to nocfn before he talked to Bob as well. I almost always submit large orders, my usual problem is waiting 1-2 weeks while some oddball item is retrieved from under a thick layer of dust in a German warehouse.I told Bob today that they should put a $50 or $100 minimum order to stop the abuse of the system by members of this forum. Whether we go back to free shipping, or stay at 50% shipping -- the abuse of the free shipping by members of this forum has hurt us.
It appears that the driver's side tie rod is NLA. I received a passenger lemfoerder one form FCPEURO and it was made in Germany.
It depends on the situation for me. Since I am deep into Porsche projects I can wait for my E500 fuel hose preventative maintenance order. But on my Porsche project items I am paying close attention to the shipping time. FCP Euro & Pelican Parts are fully up and running. Both got my Sunday orders to me by Thursday all set for the weekend of wrenching. But I think parts is FCP Euro and Pelican's core business. MB of Naperville must be on an almost 100% complete shut down (who is buying new cars now?) and looks like only Bob in the parts department is the only working staff.
I must be on Bob’s sh*t list as my $265 fuel line order is still listed as New in my order status
Have you guys tried Smythe European in San Jose, or Autobahn Motors directly adjacent to the galactic headquarters of my employer?
I ordered mine on 3/31 after speaking with you. My order was exactly the same with the exception of:
- no fog lamp assembly bolt (if that is holding things up?)
- added fuel filter
for a total of $298.
Anyways, I just checked --- my order on the website is also listed as "OPEN ORDER" and status is set to "IN PROGRESS". I opened the boxes in the garage this morn - two from Carol Stream, IL, and one from NJ.
BTW - I also always type up a short thank you note in the comments section of the order page if that helps?
I'm in no hurry. If you need those fuel line parts ASAP, you are more than welcome to take them, and then I would take yours when yours arrive.@Jlaa your killing me. I am not sure if I should call or email or if that fog light screw is holding me ups (actually a screw for my lower dashed from my combo switch job, I dropped it and it disappeared, so I want the replacement. )
