LH Module replacement- Relearn required?

Have a W140 1992 WOT LH module in my parts box staring at me that i want to install into my 500E

Would like to know if it is necessary to do the LH calibration/ relearn in SDS upon installation of this or if just r&r of the old module and happy motoring?

Thanks very much :D

Nothing needed in SDS. The module will re-learn automatically.

If the module came from another car, it's generally a good idea to reset the module adaptation to mean values, this can be done either via SDS (HHT-Win) or by "clearing" fault code #1 with a hand-held blinker box. The SDS method is better as you can see the values before & after.

Either way, the new module will automatically adapt after a few hundred miles.

Thank you good sir for clarifcation :thumbsup2:

Had a thought: My current 93 LH module
(015-545-36-32) was recently gone through and recapped along with all other factory control modules in my 500 and in much nicer overall condition than the (014-545-18-32) 92 W140 WOT unit i am looking to swap in.

Would swapping out just the eeprom chipset from the 92 LH into my 93 net me exactly the same results without any issues?

Would there be anything else that differs between them? My current board does look much nicer overall-- if doing that and an adaptation in sds is all i need might go about it that way for reliability.
Thanks and cheers for any insight!
