That is really a GOOD BOOK I have 2 of them and 2 of the E60LH AMG one, a lot cheaper 7-8 years ago, I think the serious 036 owner should

I just purchased 10 of these locally(I'm betting you know the tech that owned them,klink) for about $10 each. Only one 036. The rest are 124, 129,140, various model changes etc. Quite nice.

Oh yes, it is extremely common. When something new but based on already existing practice is introduced, they frequently pick a model that they would expect us to be familiar with, and simply explain the differences between the new and they already known reference. That was exactly how they did the 500E technical service introduction booklet.

That would be a good book to have. We can learn a lot on that book when it comes to taking care of our car. We can also use it as a guide if we want to modify something in our car.

There are actually several versions of that book:
1) The German Edition: 160 Pages. #6510 1081 00

PLEASE VERIFY THE FOLLOWING, mine are not at hand.
2) The English Edition: 130 Pages.
3) The English Edition: 162 Pages.

The "long" English version is the rarest and the only one I do not have in my collection.

I believe that one should consider acquiring a collection of manuals as most are NLA. A complete "library" would consist of all the relevant manuals, plus a few general ones, for every car one owns (or plan on owning).
Some were produced, as far as I know, only in German. The more general type manuals, "Service," "Introduction to Service," "Electrical Troubleshooting Guide," "Preliminary," etc. were available in various languages.
Maybe I'm just an analog type guy but I prefer paper rather than pixels when it comes to manuals.

Yes, both English editions (USA and the longer "rest of world") of the .036 "Intro to Service" manual are scanned and available, digitally.
